Police say 42-year-old Lauren Broussard drove through the front yard of a home, traveling to the back of the property, hitting a swing set along the way. Police found her in the treeline, sleeping, with an open bottle of Coors in the center console. She is free on pre-trial release.

| On 10/17/2021 officers were dispatched to a call for service at 913 Bresslyn Rd. The property owners had observed a vehicle drive through the yard and stop in the back of their property. Officers observed the vehicle running at the tree line at the back of the property of 913 Bresslyn Rd and could see the tracks where the vehicle had driven through the property and hit a swing set. Officers observed the defendant in the drivers’ seat of the vehicle asleep. Officers ordered her to turn the vehicle off and to step out. Officers also observed an open bottle of Coors in the center console of the vehicle. When the defendant stepped out of the vehicle she was very unsteady and officers could smell the odor of alcohol. The defendant was asked if she knew where she was and could not tell officers where she thought she was. The defendant consented to Standardized Field Sobriety Tasks and was transported to 6849 Old Charlotte Pike a nearby church where the Standardized Field Sobriety Tasks could be conducted. The defendant could not perform the walk and turn or the one-leg stand. The defendant was placed into custody, read Miranda Rights, and read implied consent. The defendant refused a breath test and an additional charge of implied consent was added. |
