49-year-old Ryan Sledge, a former MNPD Officer who now lives in Florida, found himself in a Nashville Jail Tuesday morning after what was described as a “domestic disturbance” at Jonathan’s Grille which began late Monday night. Witnesses report observing Sledge smash his daughter’s phone on the ground twice after an altercation. Sledge admitted the phone was initially in his daughter’s hand, and he pushed the phone, but would not elaborate more than that. Ryan Sledge was booked and released in just over 2 hours, posting a $1,000 cash bond.

| On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, [just after 12AM], officers received a call for a domestic disturbance at Jonathan’s Grill. The victim, Alyson Sledge, stated she and her father, the defendant, just had a separate altercation over which she was crying about. The victim stated she was sitting on the ground in the corner of the parking lot crying when the defendant approached her and was cursing at her. She stated she had her phone in her hand and, while seated, was trying to push the defendant away, and in the process, the phone dropped from her hand. The victim stated her phone was not damaged from that. The victim stated the defendant then picked up her phone and smashed it on the ground, then picked up her phone again and smashed it down on the ground a second time before walking away. The witness, Sarah Smith, was standing nearby when this occurred and stated she saw the defendant smash the victim’s phone down on the ground twice, as well. The defendant mentioned to officers that the victim had the phone in her hand, and he pushed the phone but would say no more than that. Officers located the phone in the same area of the parking lot of where the victim stated the event occurred. Officers documented the phone was extremely damaged and broke into two pieces. The victim did not want to prosecute at this time, but officers prosecuted on her behalf. |
