33-year-old Allen Stevens is now charged with the domestic assault of his girlfriend, leaving her bleeding from the mouth after he punched her – and she returned the punch, also causing him to bleed. The couple got into an argument at a downtown convenience store, which caught the attention of employees and police. Stevens is held on a $1,000 bond and additional warrants out of Knox county and appears red-faced and teary-eyed in his mugshot.

| Officers were dispatched to 427 Lafayette St. (In & Out Mart) regarding a domestic disturbance. The parties are in a dating relationship and have a child together. Officers spoke with an employee at this location who stated he heard the victim and defendant arguing. Officers then located the defendant and victim at 701 4th Av S. The victim stated that she was arguing with the defendant, who was intoxicated, about their relationship and family issues. The victim stated that the defendant punched her in the face which caused her to bleed from the mouth. In turn, the victim stated she hit him back with her hand causing him to bleed on the left side of his face. The victim appeared to have dried blood on her bottom lip. The victim also stated that the defendant had been drinking prior to the argument. The defendant appeared to be intoxicated when speaking with officers. The defendant stated that he was in an argument with the victim about their relationship and family issues outside of 427 Lafayette St. The defendant stated that he saw strangers bothering the victim which made her mad and swing her bag at them. The defendant stated that he was accidentally hit by the bag in the face by the victim. Let it be known that upon questioning with the victim, she did not state that she swung her bag at any individual during the argument. Officers then discovered that the defendant had out-of-county warrants in Knox county that officers confirmed with the records division. Officers determined the defendant to be the primary aggressor of the domestic assault due to the defendant’s intoxication and conflicting statements. The defendant was placed in physical custody for domestic assault and fugitive from justice with warrants. |
