25-year-old Brandon Reed admits he pushed his girlfriend’s, Quantavia Bland, head into a wall when she told him “a real man could fix my car”. She says she was in fear for her life and responded by throwing hot grease from a deep fryer on him in self-defense, which injured his arm. Reed is charged with domestic assault and is free on a $1,000 bond.

| On 11/01/2021 at approximately 1841 hrs I was dispatched to an apartment complex located at 3474 Dickerson Pike, for a report of a domestic disturbance. On scene, police met with the victim (Quantavia Bland) who stated the defendant (Brandon Reed) had pushed her head into a wall over an argument. Brandon and Quantavia are in a dating relationship and live at this location together. Quantavia stated she and the defendant got into an argument about Quantavia’s vehicle. Quantavia stated she made an offhand comment about how a real man would be able to fix her vehicle for her. Quantavia stated the defendant became angry and pushed her head into a wall. Quantavia stated she threw fryer grease at the defendant to get him away from her. Quantavia advised she threw the fryer grease because she was in fear for her safety as the defendant additionally stated he would kill her. Quantavia stated things settled down once the defendant knew police were on their way. Quantavia has no visible injuries. The defendant’s statements fell in line with Quantavias. The defendant admitted to pushing Quantavia’s head into the wall. The defendant had visible injuries on his right forearm from the grease Quantavia threw at him. Due to the defendant admitting to being the primary aggressor and pushing Quantavias head into the wall, police took the defendant into custody without incident. |
