Man crashes work van into strip club fence after leaving inside; drank “half-bottle of jack” — Robert Fontaine

33-year-old Robert Fontaine was dressed in his work shirt and driving his Nashville Machine Elevator work van when he arrived at Pure Gold’s Crazy Horse Nashville Friday evening. As he was leaving the strip club, security attempted to dissuade him from driving due to his level of intoxication, however, he fled the parking lot, crashing into the fence along McCann St. He would later tell officers he had a “half-bottle of Jack”. Due to being transported to the hospital, field sobriety tests were not completed. Fontaine was charged with DUI and is free on pre-trial release.

ARREST WARRANT / AFFIDAVIT:
On November 5, 2021, at 2113 hours, officers responded to the scene of a traffic crash located at 300 McCann Street in Nashville Davidson County, Tennessee. When officers arrived on the scene, they made contact with the defendant Robert Fontaine.

Mr. Fontaine was at Pure Gold’s Crazy Horse Nashville. He left the location prior to officers arrival and due to his level of intoxication Crazy Horse security attempted to prevent him from leaving. Mr. Fontaine became belligerent, got into his white Ford Transit Connect, and fled the parking lot. Mr. Fontaine works for Nashville Machine Elevator. He was in a work shirt and driving a work van.

Mr. Fontaine wrecked into a fence belonging to the Crazy Horse Nashville and sustained unknown injuries. Mr. Fontaine smelled strongly of alcohol. Mr. Fontaine’s eyes were bloodshot and watery. Mr. Fontaine’s speech was mumbled and slurred. Mr. Fontaine stood up in the ambulance and swayed while standing.

Mr. Fontaine told your affiant he consumed, “half a bottle of Jack.” Standard Field Sobriety Tasks were not completed due to Mr. Fontaine being transported to Nashville General Hospital with a potential back injury. Mr. Fontaine’s Tennessee driver’s license states YES to DUI on-after 19970101. I do not know if he was convicted. Officer Scott informed Mr. Fontaine of the Tennessee Implied Consent Advisement. Mr. Fontaine stated he would give consent to a blood draw if his lawyer was present.
