23-year-old Timothy Strickland faces multiple charges, including felony aggravated assault/strangulation, after his girlfriend reportedly found messages between him and other men on his phone that he was attempting to hook up with. After the wildly detailed physical assault in the police affidavit which left blood on the bed and the victim bruised, he then burnt her social security card, took $180 from her purse, and smashed her iPhone. He then reportedly threw his face on the ground and literally ‘ate dirt’ while being arrested in an attempt to avoid or delay his trip to jail, trying to choke on it.

| ARREST WARRANT / AFFIDAVIT: |
| On 10/31/2021 at approximately 1509 hours, police arrived on the scene at 2901 Old Franklin Road in regards to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, police spoke with Tiana Spence (victim) who stated her boyfriend, Timothy Strickland (defendant), who lived at the apartment assaulted her and damaged her property. The victim stated she had gone through the defendant’s cell phone, and the two argued about what she found. The victim stated the defendant then demanded to see her phone, and she refused. The victim stated the defendant started to hit her in the head with his hands as they were lying on the mattress on the floor. The victim stated she rolled off the mattress to the floor, and the defendant continued to hit her in the back of the head. The victim stated she became dizzy. The victim stated the defendant dragged her back onto the bed, and then the defendant used two hands to the back of her head to press her face into the pillow, cutting off her breathing for approximately one minute. The victim stated the defendant rolled her over to be face up because she was screaming, and he put his right hand around the front of her neck area, strangling her. The victim stated the defendant then put two hands over her face, covering her mouth and nose, again cutting off her breathing. The victim stated she then tried to leave the apartment, but the defendant dragged her down to the ground and began to kick her. The victim stated at some point during the incident, the defendant also grabbed items from her purse and began to burn some of them in the kitchen. The victim stated the defendant also broke her cell phone. The victim stated she had trouble swallowing from the strangulation. The victim stated $180 in cash was missing from her wallet, which was inside her purse. Police observed a small amount of blood on the bed, a small red mark on the back of the victim’s neck, a busted lip, the victim’s cell phone was damaged, and a bowl with partially burned paper cards in it was in the kitchen. The defendant denied any physical altercation that occurred during the incident. The defendant was arrested and transported to booking. In a statement from the victim to Scoop: Nashville, the victim explains: “I called the police on him this morning for beating my ass because I went through his phone & seen him texting gay men & trying to have sex with them. I told him to get out & he strangled me, punched my head repeatedly, broke my iPhone, stole $180 out of my wallet. Burned my SSC, & stole my phone then proceeded to call his ex gf in my face to make me angry. I ran outside to get a neighbor to call 911. When he was arrested he threw his face in dirt trying to swallow it so he could choke & die so he wouldn’t have to go to jail” |
