19-year-old Tonisha Mitchell was booked on an outstanding warrant Tuesday, charging her with aggravated assault with serious bodily injury. Court documents reveal she was identified after she arrived at the Madison Police Precinct to retrieve property she lost during an altercation at Walmart. During that altercation, she and her boyfriend confronted a store employee they had ongoing issues with as he was clocking out. As her boyfriend began to assault the victim, identified as Tavarius Cameron, Tonisha reportedly swung a hammer at the victim, and when someone took the hammer from her she took the box cutter from the victim’s pants and sliced him with it. The victim suffered lacerations to his head requiring stitches. Tonisha Mitchell is jailed in lieu of a $150,000 bond.

| On 3/18/21, the victim was working at Wal-Mart located at 2232 Gallatin Pke N, when the defendant and her boyfriend confronted the victim at the front of the store due to ongoing issues between the parties. The victim was at the front of the store clocking out when the male party began to assault him. The fight quickly went to the ground as bystanders attempted to break the fight up. The defendant then swung a hammer at the victim as he was on the ground. The hammer was then taken away from her by an unknown bystander. The defendant kicked the victim before positioning to the other side of the altercation. As the scuffle was being broken up by other employees the defendant came up from behind the victim, grabbed his work issued box cutter from his pants, and sliced at the victim with the box cutter. The victim suffered lacerations to his head which required 7 stitches. The defendant was positively identified by officers after she arrived at Madison Precinct to retrieve property she lost during the altercation. |
