23-year-old Bohlt Hamrick told police he had around 5 drinks at a #DowntownNashville bar Wednesday night, a mix of both beer and liquor, before he began the drive home. Police and medics would find him extremely intoxicated in a crashed car on Riverbank Drive, where a home security camera captured him speeding down Stone Hall Blvd, striking a curb, and coming to rest in the intersection. He told police he “was just driving home” in the neighborhood, however, he lives in a neighborhood approximately 8 miles away. After field sobriety tests, Hamrick submitted to a breathalyzer, where he blew a 0.166 BAC – over double the legal limit. He was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail, charged with DUI / driving under the influence. He is free on pre-trial release.

COMPLAINT:
2021-0647492
ARREST WARRANT / AFFIDAVIT:
On 12/22/2021, officers were dispatched to 5000 Riverbank Drive in response to a request from the fire department. The fire department was initially dispatched for a motor vehicle accident involving a single vehicle. Upon the officer’s arrival, there was a black SUV observed disabled in the intersection of Riverbank Drive and Stone Hall Blvd. The fire department advised the vehicle was running and the defendant was in the driver’s seat when they arrived.

Officers contacted the defendant in the passenger seat of the vehicle where NFD had him sit. During initial contact, the defendant’s speech was slurred, and he was slumped over in the seat. Officers asked the defendant what happened, he stated nothing he was just driving home. Officers already looked up the defendant’s home address on his license and asked him if that was the address he was going to and he said yes. The address the defendant lives at is not in the same neighborhood where he was located and is approximately 8 miles away.

The defendant stated he was on his way home from a bar in downtown Nashville. The defendant admitted to consuming alcohol while downtown. He agreed to perform standard field sobriety tasks, which were conducted on a sidewalk in the neighborhood. The defendant displayed several indicators of impairment and was taken into custody. He was read both his Miranda Warnings and TN Implied Consent.

The defendant admitted to consuming about 5 alcoholic beverages while downtown, both liquor and beer. A breath sample was requested, and the defendant agreed. The breathalyzer was conducted at DCSO booking and the result was .166. While on the scene of the accident, officers spoke with the homeowner of 5000 Riverbank Drive, and he had exterior surveillance of the vehicle. A video was emailed to officers of the vehicle in motion. In the video, the vehicle appears to be speeding down Stone Hall Blvd when it strikes the curb and comes to rest in the intersection. The video will be saved.
