41-year-old Mark Douglas Lanier is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after troopers say he was driving a UHaul truck on a Nashville area interstate and became frustrated when he could not get into the lane and pointed and waved a handgun at another driver, who alerted authorities. He was reportedly screaming “let me the F— over” during the interaction. Lanier is free on a $7,500 cash bond.

| On December 7, 2021at approximatley 2:45pm Trooper Case was dispatched to a road rage incident involving a firearm. The compliantant stated that the driver of a Uhaul wanted to change lanes and became frustrated pointing and waving a gun at him yelling “let me the “f” over”. The incident took place near the I40 and 24 split towards Murfreesboro. The Uhaul was stopped a the 73.4 mile marker in Rutherford County. The Uhaul driver admitted to having a firearm in the vehicle and also admitted to waving the gun at the complaintant. The driver of the Uhaul was identified as Mark Douglas Lainer II. |
