22-year-old Quinton Gaines was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on an outstanding warrant charging him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Court records show that in September he approached Randall Roach after a family member’s funeral, upset that Roach had spoken to his 17-year-old half-brother about “life decisions” at a gathering after the burial. He allegedly went to Roach’s home, asked him to come outside, then threatened to kill him while holding a gun. Gaines was later identified from a lineup and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He is free on a $10,000 bond.

| On September 4, 2021, the victim and witness were attending a family gathering at 3785 Lunn Drive (Davidson County) after the burial of their grandparent. The victim (Randall Roach) was attempting to speak with his cousin, a 17-year-old juvenile, regarding his life decisions. The juvenile became upset and the two were separated. The juvenile’s half-brother, the defendant (no domestic relationship to the victim), later came to the residence and told the victim he needed to come outside and speak with him. The victim exited the back door of the residence and went around to the front yard. The defendant exited the front door and confronted the victim. The defendant then produced a handgun, pointed it at the defendant, and stated “I’ll kill your ass.” This placed the victim in imminent fear of death or serious bodily injury. The witness stated that she stepped in front of the defendant and yelled for someone to call 9-1-1. Once this happened, the defendant fled the scene. On September 10, 2021, the victim positively identified the defendant from a photo line-up. |
