18-year-old Zyon Webb is charged with felony automobile theft after police responded to a vehicle blocking a lane of travel while having mechanical issues. They found the 18-year-old driving a 2014 Nissan Quest registered to a Josefina Sosa. Webb told the officer he had just purchased the vehicle this morning, however, his mother was also at the scene, and she told officers Webb had no financial means to purchase a vehicle, and there’s no way this vehicle could be his. After police were able to make contact with the vehicle owner, she confirmed the vehicle had been stolen from Antioch. Webb was booked on the outstanding warrant Thursday and remains jailed in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

| On 09/20/2021 around 1721 hours police responded to reports of a vehicle blocking a lane of traffic that appeared to have damage to the front and rear ends of the vehicle. When police arrived on the scene, officers ran the TN tag through records to find that the 2014 Nissan Quest was registered to a Josefina Sosa. Officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle, the defendant. The defendant admitted to police to driving the vehicle and being stuck in the lane of traffic while having mechanical issues. The defendant stated multiple times that he purchased the vehicle this morning. The defendant could not provide any proof of ownership. The defendant’s mother was on the scene and was adamant that the defendant did not have the means to purchase a vehicle. Officers contacted the registered owner’s family who stated the vehicle was stolen earlier that day from 5305 Hickory Hollow Pkwy. Officers verified ownership through Tennessee state registration and Tennessee ID and listed the vehicle as stolen. Due to the victim’s admission to driving and possessing the car, and claims that the vehicle belonged to the defendant, officers believe that the defendant had no intention of returning the vehicle to the registered owner. |
