When police pulled him over for a traffic stop, an officer noticed a nearly empty bottle of Adictivo Tequila in the vehicle of 36-year-old Marvin Drew, and a 9mm handgun magazine in his lap. When asked where his gun was located, Drew pointed to his pink handbag, which is where officers retrieved a Taurus G2c and several rounds of ammo. Drew was charged with DUI, open container, possession of a weapon under the influence, and violation of the implied consent law. He is free on pre-trial release.

| On January 1, 2022, at 0307 hours, I observed the defendant Marvin Drew who was driving a blue Ford Explorer (Tennessee License Plate-XXXXXXX) run the red light at Murfreesboro Pike / Millwood Drive in Nashville Davidson County, Tennessee. In addition, Mr. Drew could not maintain his lane of travel. I conducted a traffic stop on Mr. Drew near Murfreesboro Pike / Spence Lane. Mr. Drew was slow to stop and partially stopped in a lane of travel and on a sidewalk. There was an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from the Ford Explorer. Mr. Drew was the only occupant. When I asked Mr. Drew if he had anything to drink, he replied, “not much”. Later during the roadside interview, Mr. Drew stated he consumed one beer. Mr. Drew smelled of alcohol once outside of the vehicle. Mr. Drew was unsteady on his feet. Mr. Drew agreed to perform Standard Field Sobriety Tasks however once we began the tasks Mr. Drew did not cooperate. Mr. Drew was informed of the Tennessee Implied Consent advisement and refused a breath test. An inventory search was conducted and there was a nearly empty Adictivo Tequila bottle. In Mr. Drew’s lap was a black 9MM handgun magazine. I asked Mr. Drew where his handgun was located and he pointed to a pink handbag. In total, a Taurus G2C handgun was located and seven 9MM rounds and one 40 caliber round were located. Mr. Drew was arrested for DUI in Rutherford County, Tennessee in 2016. Mr. Drew was arrested for DUI in Montgomery County, Tennessee in 2018. |
