24-year-old Marquaveon Darell Gray is charged with two counts of solicitation of a minor and displaying sex acts to a minor — a 16-year-old male who he met while working at the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Center, where the victim was in the custody of the center. Officers recovered videos of Gray propositioning the victim, and displaying his own genitals to the victim during a Facetime call, to which the victim replied, “you got a shrimp!”
The victim says that while he was incarcerated Gray asked him for his Instagram name, and a few weeks after his release, he was contacted by Gray, who he just thought was being friendly. However, Gray soon asked him for nude photos during a Facetime call which detectives were able to recover. On another call in July of 2022, Gray is standing in his bathroom with his penis resting on the counter near the sink. As he holds his penis, the victim says, “damn, you got a shrimp,” and Gray replies, “it’s soft tho.” He then asks to see the victim’s penis, causing the victim to change the topic of conversation. Gray then tells him, “I’m trying to suck your dick” when they meet in person. Once again, Gray asks to see the victim’s penis, and he ends the call.
Marquaveon Darell Gray of Sherrin Dr in Ripley, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on October 12th, charged with 2 counts of solicitation of a minor and display sex act to a minor. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $65,000.
