John Swoboda identified as man who jumped from 36th floor of Four Seasons in downtown Nashville in apparent suicide

Metro Nashville Police have identified 29-year-old John Christian Swoboda as the man who jumped from the 36th floor of the Four Seasons Residences building in downtown Nashville on the morning of December 8th in an apparent suicide. Swoboda was from Mt. Juliet, where here was reported missing to local police on December 7th. He reportedly left his phone, identification, and cash at his residence. Police say Swoboda took an elevator to the 36th floor, where witnesses who were working in a vacant room noticed him walk through the room and straight out onto the balcony, where he reportedly jumped to his death. The witnesses initially assumed he was another construction worker when he walked onto the floor.

Booster Lundyia Woods jailed after being identified by an accomplice

21-year-old Lundyia Woods was jailed this week, just three days after one of her accomplices, Jalyn Miller, identified her as being involved in their theft from a Bed Bath & Beyond store, in which they each stole a $100 comforter set. The third accomplice, Alexis Flemmings, has not yet been arrested.

Michigan Tourist Craig Colpean says wife “corralled” him, police say he assaulted her

62-year-old Craig Colpean and his wife, Leslie Ann, are visiting Nashville from Michigan. Police responded to a call in the early hours of Thursday morning at the Opryland Hotel after Craig called 911 to advise of an incident that occurred an hour earlier, around 1 a.m. He told responding officers they had been drinking and that his wife had “corralled him” in the corner of the room during an argument over work and aggressively pushed him. His wife gave a much different account, stating that he had pushed her multiple times and was intimidating toward her. She says she only pushed him in self-defense. Officers observed multiple wine glasses knocked over, causing a lot of “mess” and damage inside the room. Based on the totality of the circumstances, the evidence inside the room, and the video of Craig casually leaving the room after the incident, he was determined to be the primary aggressor. Police say he also has prior arrests for domestic violence in Michigan.

Israel Montiel Mezo charged with domestic assault after alleged rape of ex-girlfriend

33-year-old Israel Montiel Mezo is charged with burglary and domestic assault after his ex-girlfriend, Kimberly Black, says he forced his way into her hotel room, grabbed her and forced her onto the bed. She says he pulled down her clothing and penetrated her with his fingers as she screamed for help. As she got up to flee, she says he ripped her shirt as he also fled the scene. Officers documented abrasions on her neck and chest and issued warrants for Mezo’s arrest, charging him with domestic assault and aggravated burglary. He was booked on the outstanding warrants this week.

Tristan Hawkins confesses to possessing child porn for past seven years in East Nashville

21-year-old Tristan Hawkins is charged with sexual exploitation of a minor after he confessed to possessing, viewing, sending, and receiving child sexual abuse material, both images and videos, over the past seven years. A search of his online accounts and phone revealed hundreds of such items, including forcible rape. Details in arrest affidavit in the story. Hawkins is free on a $25,000 bond.
