Metro Nashville Police came upon a vehicle parked and running at Charlotte Ave & 48th at 2:13 a.m. Thursday, with 24-year-old Ivy Searles asleep inside, reclined in the driver’s seat. Officers knocked on the window, and she eventually woke up and rolled down her window. Officers say they immediately smelled alcohol coming from her breath. Searles stated she had dinner and a martini at the Hawthorne restaurant, about a block away, at 7:30 p.m. and then walked to Otto’s bar for another martini after dinner. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to booking, charged with DUI.
