Police responded to what appeared to be a disabled vehicle on I-40 E in the early hours of Feb 11 to find 30-year-old Timmie ‘TJ’ Godwin asleep behind the wheel with the vehicle in drive and his foot on the brake. Offers were initially unable to wake Godwin but were eventually able to reach through a small portion of the window that was rolled down and “poked” him until he was awake. As he was removed from the vehicle, it was apparent he was intoxicated and had an empty liquor bottle in the center console. TJ Godwin admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving and was transported to booking, where he was charged with DUI.
Timmie Godwin of Nashua Ln in Nashville, TN, was booked into Metro Nashville jail on February 11th, charged with driving under the influence. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $2,000, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave him pre-trial release from their facility.
