41-year-old Joshua Simmons was jailed this week after starting a fight at Matheson’s and then becoming Combative with police on 2nd Avenue. Officers were flagged down and saw Simmons fighting with one of the employees on the sidewalk after being told to leave the establishment. Officers broke up the fight and tried to arrest Simmons, but he became combative and resisted. Multiple officers arrived to assist in the arrest due to Simmons being heavily intoxicated. They were able to get him into handcuffs safely, but once placed in the patrol vehicle, Simmons began kicking and slamming his head against the window and door.
