Justin Jackson assaults baby-mama during multiple altercations

34-year-old Justin Jackson had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Cinandre Horton, who is pregnant with his child, at their South 6th Street apartment on January 18th. Horton spoke with officers when they arrived and advised them that Jackson had entered their unit and started packing his bag, during which an argument ensued. Jackson struck Horton in the back of her head with his bag and punched her in the face. Detectives observed the injuries sustained, which were consistent with her statement. Horton told officers about a previous incident on January 16th, where Jackson had assaulted her, taken her phone so she would not call the police, and then fled the location. Afterward, Horton went to a neighbor’s house to use their phone to alert the authorities. Horton’s phone is valued at $1,000.00. Jackson was taken into custody for two counts of domestic assault, interference with a 911 call, and theft on March 21st.

Jimmy Reed attempts to kill himself multiple times during argument with girlfriend

27-year-old Jimmy Lee Reed had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Hannah Jawad, at his Continental Drive residence in the early hours of March 21st. When the detectives arrived, they spoke with Jawad, who advised them that she went to a bar with her boyfriend, Reed, and some friends. On the way home, an argument ensued between her and Reed, where Jawad told Reed to get out of her vehicle. When he exited the car, he grabbed her purse and walked away. Then, Reed started messaging Jawad, saying he was going to harm himself. So, Jawad called her friend, Savannah Cummings, to help her look for him, worried he might hurt himself. After 30 minutes of searching for Reed, they located him, and he got in Jawad’s back seat. While they were driving home, Reed started making suicidal statements and wrapping his belt around his neck. Jawad struggled, trying to unwrap the seatbelt from his neck. Then, Reed started hitting Jawad with the metal portion of the seatbelt, causing minor bleeding and swelling to the right side of her lower lip. Jawad stated that she swung at Reed in self-defense, which caused swelling to his left eye. As they continued driving to his residence, he rolled the rear window down and tried jumping out of the moving vehicle. So, Jawad grabbed Reed by his pants and pulled him back inside the car. When they finally got to his residence, Reed tried to take the car keys from Cummings and simultaneously started striking Jawad’s left shoulder with his elbow, which left a minor redness. Reed went inside the home, and Jawad waited outside for the police to arrive. Officers then spoke with Reed, who said he went to the bar with Jawad and did not touch her. Reed was deemed as the primary aggressor, and then he was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Shawn Murray jailed after sliding, fleeing police at Night Riderz street takeover

24-year-old Shawn Maurice Murray was taken into custody for evading arrest with a motor vehicle and reckless endangerment on March 21st. The Street Racer Investigation identified Murray as a prolific slider and a member of the takeover groups throughout Davidson County. Murray attended a Night Riderz street takeover event and conducted reckless driving behaviors at the intersection of Bell Road and Murfreesboro Pike on August 6th, 2023, observed by an MNPD aviation unit. Officers responded and tried to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. Still, he fled and was followed by an aviation unit, during which he drove in a dangerous, reckless manner, creating the risk of death or severe injury. He eventually ditched his vehicle in front of his Walton Lane residence and ran into his house to hide from law enforcement. They collected his vehicle after he abandoned it, and a warrant was issued for his arrest on November 20th, 2023. An investigation revealed that Murray admitted to fleeing from MNPD and attempted to cover up his Evading Arrest by Motor Vehicle offense with Marcus Magee. Murray was booked on the outstanding warrant on March 21st.

Jarrod Gosse smacks daughter, pulls hair out of wife’s head during drunk altercation

53-year-old Jarrod Jon Gosse had a domestic incident with his wife, Michelle Gosse, and his daughter, Alexandra Gosse, at Alexandra’s 6th Avenue North residence late March 21st. Michelle and Alexandra spoke with officers when they arrived and advised them that they were out partying with Jarrod. When they returned to her house, he was intoxicated and became irate for no reason. Jarrod smacked Alexandra in the face, causing her nose to start bleeding, which woke up her mom. Michelle tried to intervene and stop the altercation, during which he started hitting and pushing her. Jarrod then pulled a large wad of hair from Michelle’s head before fleeing the scene. Michelle and Alexandria left, and when they returned, they noticed the front door had been kicked in. Jarrod returned to the scene, and then the officers were provided text messages showing him admitting to breaking into the residence. He was highly intoxicated and could not remember what had happened. Gosse was taken into custody for two counts of domestic assault and aggravated criminal trespassing.

Michael Barton drinks fifth of tequila on Greyhound bus

30-year-old Michael Barton was jailed on March 21st for drinking on the Greyhound Bus. Police responded to the bus station on Rep John Lewis Way and found Barton already detained by security. The security guard told officers they had received a call from an inbound bus driver advising them that Barton had been drinking on the bus before arriving at the station. Security then observed Barton falling over and learned that he had drank a fifth of tequila. Barton slurred his words and struggled to speak to officers in coherent sentences. He could not stand without assistance and smelled strongly of alcohol. Officers then determined that with his level of intoxication, Barton posed a danger to himself and was taken into custody.

Diamond McNeal threatens boyfriend with knife, attempts to run him over

20-year-old Diamond McNeal and her sister had an altercation with her boyfriend, Joseph Glenn, at his residence on February 14th, 2022. Glenn stated that McNeal arrived to get her bag, holding a knife and bottle of perfume. McNeal began pointing the knife at him, which Glenn said made him feel threatened. Glenn said she kept it pointed at him while she grabbed her bag, and then he told her that he had to call his sister as an excuse to try to leave the residence. When Glenn ran out of the house, McNeal, still holding the knife, and her sister chased after him. Glenn stated that McNeal got into her sister’s car and sped down the street, attempting to hit him with the car. Glenn ran away and called the police. McNeal was taken into custody for aggravated assault on March 21st.

Jarrod Gunn threatens Motel 6 employee, tells him “I am going to kill you”

35-year-old Jarrod Gunn, an employee of Staff Zone, had an incident with Ricky Shane Wyatt Miller, a Motel 6 employee, at Motel 6 on Cartwright Street on February 22nd. When officers arrived, they spoke with Miller, who advised them that Gunn told him, “I am going to kill you,” and that he was afraid he might follow through with his statement. Gunn was then cited for assault on February 22nd. Gunn was booked on the citation on March 19th.

Raniyha Thomas assaults employee at Casa Fiesta after breaking glasses

20-year-old Raniyha Marie Thomas, of MTSU, had an altercation with an employee, Andres Barajas, at Casa Fiesta on Bell Road late February 22nd. When the officers arrived, they spoke with both parties. Thomas told officers they were sitting at their table when they said to Barajas that their drinks were not right and their food was taking too long. The waiter told them they could leave, and as one of the girls was about to take a drink from their cup, he took it from her hand, telling them to leave again. Then, they left, but one of them left their phone, so she went back inside to grab it. Barajas told them they could not have it unless they paid $20 for damages.

Barajas told officers that they were complaining about their food and drinks, so he told them to leave since the kitchen was closed, and when they tried to take a sip from their drinks, he took their straws. After this, one of the girls started to break the glasses. They then left and later tried to return to the restaurant because one of the girls had left their phone inside. Barjas told them they could not come in, adding that they had to pay $20 in damages to get the phone. Barjas went to close the door, which is when Thomas barged into the establishment and started hitting him. Barajas provided footage of the incident, confirming his statement. Officers were advised that the restaurant did not want to prosecute for the damages, and Thomas was cited for assault. Thomas was booked on the citation on March 19th.

Josiah Park runs from police after found trespassing at Vanderbilt University

31-year-old Josiah Parks was loading chemical containers into a U-Haul truck near lot nine at Vanderbilt University on the afternoon of March 13th. VUPD arrived and observed Parks running back and forth between the sidewalk and the U-Haul, repeatedly throwing a jug of water into the air. Then, Parks ran off towards the Free Electron Laser Center as officers identified themselves. When officers commanded Parks to stop, he refused. Once officers caught up to Parks, they noticed his eyes were bloodshot. When asked, Parks did not have a legitimate reason to be on the property, nor did he have consent to take the property from the owners. Parks was taken into custody for resisting arrest, criminal trespassing, and public intoxication.

Christen Singleton shoots gun at man walking his dog

23-year-old Christen Singleton fired a shot at Rodney Wiggins near the Mountain View apartments on Mountain Springs Road in the early hours of March 21st. Officers received three calls regarding gunfire at the complex, with a vehicle speeding off immediately after. When officers arrived, they spoke with Wiggins. Wiggins advised that he was walking his dog when a black Cadillac pulled up next to him, and the passenger, a black male in a pink hoodie, later identified as Singleton, started yelling at him. Singleton then pulled out a handgun, shot a round in Wiggins’ general direction, and sped off. Wiggins added that the shot placed him in fear for his life. Detectives investigated, located Singleton in the Cadillac, and detained him. When officers patted Singleton down, they found a Glock 22 handgun in his sweater pocket. Officers then performed a “show-up,” during which Wiggins confirmed Singleton being the shooter. After this, Singleton advised them that he had a small plastic bag of Percocet that he did not have a prescription for. Singleton was taken into custody for reckless endangerment and simple possession.
