Gregory Bratcher strangles his wife during argument

38-year-old Gregory Bratcher had a domestic altercation with his wife, Miranda Leigh Bratcher, at their Club Parkway residence in the early hours of March 1st. When the officers arrived, they spoke with Mrs. Bratcher, who stated that she and Mr. Bratcher had argued and that it turned physical. Mrs. Bratcher advised that Mr. Bratcher placed his hands around her neck, making it difficult to breathe. She was visibly upset as they noticed redness on her face and both sides of her neck. Then, officers spoke with Mr. Bratcher, who told them the altercation was strictly verbal. Once Mr. Bratcher was detained, he claimed that Mrs. Bratcher pushed him. Mrs. Bratcher told officers she wished to prosecute Mr. Bratcher for the incident. Mr. Bratcher was deemed the primary aggressor and taken into custody for aggravated assault.

Kai Hampton assaults 17-year-old pregnant girlfriend and her mother

23-year-old Kai Milton Hampton had a domestic altercation with his pregnant 17-year-old girlfriend, JC, near the Olive Garden on Opry Mills Drive late February 27th. Dispatch advised them that they were in a silver Kia Optima, which officers observed leaving the scene towards Briley Parkway South before following it and conducting an investigative stop. As they approached the Optima, they noticed Hampton and JC matched the description of the two involved in the incident. JC told officers that she and Hampton argued while walking to their car after dinner, during which she lay on the sidewalk, refusing to get up. Then, she said he forcefully picked her up, attempting to take her to the car, so she pulled his hair to make him release her, stating she did not want to be handled that way. Hampton then grabbed her neck from behind with two hands and started squeezing. JC said that this made breathing slightly difficult for her and made her dizzy.

Then, she explained how he had her pressed up against the Kia until her mother, Breanne Gautier, confronted him, causing him to release her. She said she watched him approach her mom and grab her arms, threatening to hit her if she continued to intervene. JC said that things deescalated after she and Hampton got into the car. Gautier spoke to the officers, advising them she had seen him with his hand around her neck, attacking her, so she rushed over there to protect JC. She said it was at this time that he grabbed her by her arms, threatening her and that she was afraid but was not going to back down. Then, after he released her, she got into her car, and they got into JC’s Kia. They went to leave as the officers arrived. Detectives noticed visible injuries that JC sustained during the incident and deemed Hampton as the primary aggressor. He was taken into custody for two counts of domestic assault on February 28th.

Marvaughn McClerkin crashes into police cars while fleeing in stolen vehicle

24-year-old Marvaughn McClerkin parked a stolen grey Infiniti Q50 at Commerce Union Bank Building late February 20th. NCIC notified detectives that the Q50 was reported stolen by Cody Sumner on October 6th, so they approached the car and attempted to do a tactical vehicle takedown, but McClerkin fled the scene after ramming into the police cars. MNPD aviation followed the Infiniti to the West End and Louise Avenue area, where they saw the driver, McClerkin, and his unidentified passenger flee on foot. McClerkin was arrested around 25th Avenue South and Kensington Place before being placed into custody for two counts of evading arrest, theft of property, driving with a revoked license, and three counts of aggravated assault.

Patrick Allen drunkenly strangles wife during Valentine’s Day altercation

24-year-old Patrick Allen had a domestic incident with Kaysha Wilson, his girlfriend, at a Hermitage Park Drive apartment on February 15th. Officers arrived and spoke with Wilson, who advised them that the incident started on the evening of February 14th. Wilson advised that she and Allen had dinner with her family, during which she added a family member to their tab, causing him to become upset and ask why she did that. Wilson told him it was not a big deal and that she would CashApp him $7 for their meal. Then, they went to Lucky’s Bar & Grill on Stewarts Ferry Pike and continued drinking through the night. While at the bar, Allen was irritated and highly intoxicated, accusing Wilson of speaking to other men. Wilson told Allen they should return to the Hermitage Park Drive apartment where they were staying for the night. Wilson told officers she grabbed his phone because he almost left it at the bar. When they arrived at the apartment, Allen started yelling at her, demanding the phone, so Wilson told him it was on the counter and went to the bathroom. Then, Wilson said she was afraid since she had never witnessed Allen behaving like that. So, Wilson locked herself in the restroom, where Allen kicked the door open and held her down while punching her repeatedly. Officers observed the visible injuries she sustained, which were consistent with her statement. Wilson further explained how Allen placed her in a chokehold during the struggle, constricting her airways until she fought him off and left the apartment. Wilson stated another incident occurred later that day, which she reported separately. Wilson was unsure where he could have run off to and then told officers that she wished to prosecute for the attack. Allen was taken into custody for domestic assault on February 21st.

John Anders pulls knife on Group Home employee

73-year-old John Anders had an altercation with Jeffrey Stewart, an employee at Group Home Nashville, at the Larkspur Road group home late February 20th. Stewart spoke with officers when they arrived and advised them that Anders had recently been informed that he was being evicted due to his frequent hostility toward other residents. Stewart told officers that Anders entered his bedroom later that night holding a pairing knife, stating he was going to cut him since he was evicting him, and swung the blade toward his throat. Anders held the blade against Stewart’s throat until he wrestled him off and called the authorities.  Anders was then taken into custody for aggravated assault.

Anterio Duncombe strangles girlfriend multiple times during altercation

21-year-old Anterio Daeshon Duncombe had an altercation with his girlfriend, Catelynn Franklin, at their Edmonson Pike apartment on the afternoon of February 19th. Franklin spoke with officers when they arrived and advised them that she and Duncombe were arguing about their relationship when it turned physical. Franklin stated that Duncombe hit and scratched her repeatedly. Then, Franklin said Duncombe strangled her multiple times, but she was unsure if she lost consciousness. Officers observed extensive bruising and scratches on Franklin’s neck, hands, and arms. They spoke with Duncombe, who said he pushed her to keep her away but would not elaborate further. Duncombe was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for aggravated assault.

Kirhee Young points gun at woman during confrontation over racial remarks

32-year-old Kirhee Young had an incident with Jennifer Lackey at his Rio Vista Drive residence on the afternoon of February 16th. Lackey spoke with the officers when they arrived, advising them that she and Young argued over racial remarks he made on the phone with his brother. Then, Lackey told Young since he “does not like white people,” she would leave and started packing her things to leave the residence. Lackey said that it was at this time that Young walked into the bedroom, pointing a firearm at her, and told her to “Try him,” so she walked outside and called the authorities. Officers spoke with Young, who said he had a firearm but did not point it at her. Then, Young agreed to let them enter the residence and showed them where the gun was. Young was taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Jackson Frazier chases man with knife during parking dispute

30-year-old Jackson Frazier was jailed on February 17th when he pulled out a knife over a parking dispute. Gabrielle Hydorn told police that she heard yelling outside of her home on Lebanon Pike. When she walked outside, she saw Frazier chasing her husband, Kevin Hydorn, with a knife until he was able to get away. Frazier told police that he and Kevin got into an argument about a parking situation when suddenly Kevin came up to his vehicle and opened the driver’s side door. Frazier felt threatened and pulled a knife on Kevin. When Kevin backed off, Frazier continued to chase him around his car until he ran off. Kevin told officers that he approached Frazier’s car to speak with him, and that’s when Frazier pulled the knife out and began chasing him.

Jonah Flatt threatens ex-girlfriend with AR-15 during altercation

24-year-old Jonah Flatt had an altercation with his ex-girlfriend, Abeni McGee, at her unit in The Flats on Water’s Edge early January 15th. McGee alerted the authorities, advising them when they arrived that Flatt had been threatening her throughout the day, going back and forth to her apartment. McGee stated Flatt banged on her doors and windows, begging to be let in, causing a disturbance. After 15 minutes, McGee allowed him to enter since it was cold outside. Then, when McGee advised Flatt that her child’s father was coming over, he became irate and started screaming. McGee said it was at this time that Flatt took out and cocked his AR-15, placing them in fear for their safety. McGee said she was about to call the police, and then he jumped off the balcony and fled the scene. A juvenile was also present during the incident. Officers observed the footprints in the snow and spoke with several neighbors, who corroborated McGee’s statement. Flatt was taken into custody for three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on February 20th.

Yoenis Tovar assaults husband with multiple objects during altercation, tells him “I’m going to kill you”

26-year-old Yoenis Luz Anaya Tovar assaulted her husband, Bryan Hernandez De las Salas, at their shared apartment on Lebanon Pike in the late hours of January 19th. Hernandez spoke with officers, advising them that he and Tovar argued when she began making offensive comments about his mother. Hernandez made similar comments in return, which angered Tovar. Tovar started punching Hernandez in the head, leaving visible injuries, which prompted Hernandez to record her. Tovar then grabbed and struck Hernandez with a cooking pot. Hernandez further explained that amid the action, Tovar got a towel, wrapped it around his throat, and tightened it, hindering his breathing. Tovar let Hernandez go when she saw his eyes start to roll to the back of his head. Tovar then grabbed a kitchen knife, put it to Hernandez’s throat, and told him, “I’m going to kill you,” before slicing his hand with a pair of scissors, leaving a laceration. Hernandez provided the video to officers, showing Tovar striking and strangling him in the nude. As they reviewed it, the videos started to disappear as if someone were deleting them. Hernandez stated that the only other person who had access to the account with the videos was Tovar. Officers observed the apparent injuries that Hernandez sustained, which were consistent with his statements. Officers searched the area and located Tovar in her vehicle in the parking lot. Officers asked Tovar if she knew why they were there, and she said, “Probably because he called about an assault,” but insisted that nothing had happened. Tovar was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.
