Tourist Ryan Whitney refuses to use a crosswalk in downtown Nashville, resists arrest

Metro Nashville Police stopped 40-year-old Ryan Whitney as he was attempting to cross Broadway in downtown Nashville where there was no crosswalk. Whitney walked a short distance away and then returned and began to drunkenly yell and scream at the police, demanding an explanation of why he could not cross there. Police told him to move along about his evening multiple times and gave him one final chance to walk away before advising him he was under arrest for public intoxication. He then resisted arrest and had to be placed against a wall by multiple officers to get him in both handcuffs.

Downtown driver Ruchadd Bivins assaults pedestrian with jar of vaseline

35-year-old Ruchadd Bivins was booked on a summons to appear this week in a case where he is charged with an assault in downtown Nashville. On June 26th, Bivins was driving in downtown Nashville while pedestrian Katlin Nicely was walking near the end of a marked crosswalk, and he turned his vehicle, nearly hitting her. She continued properly walking down the sidewalk when Bivins turned alongside her, got out of his car, and began to yell at her. He then got back in his car and followed her as she continued to walk and once again exited his vehicle, still screaming at her. Bivens then retrieved a jar of vaseline from his car and threw it at Nicely, striking her in the chest.

DUI Crash: Travel Nurse refuses care because “I’m a nurse”, resists arrest, handgun — Megan Thaggard

32-year-old Travel Nurse Megan Elizabeth Thaggard is jailed in lieu of a $7,500 bond after police found her crashed into a crosswalk pole in downtown Nashville. When they attempted to provide her with medical assistance she refused, declaring “I don’t need care, because I’m a traveling RN!” She would eventually blow a 0.151 % BAC on a breathalyzer after admitting to drinking prior to driving. She also had a 9mm Kimber loaded with hollow-point bullets in the car within her reach. She actively resisted arrest for several minutes until police were eventually able to get her into custody. She was transported a few hundred feet to booking and charged with DUI, handgun under the influence, resisting arrest, and no insurance.

Homeless man struck & killed by Uber Eats driver on West End Ave overnight.

Just before midnight on Wednesday, witnesses say a homeless man was crossing the roadway on West End Ave, between 17th Ave S & 18th Ave S. He was struck on West End Ave by a young female driver that was on a delivery for Uber Eats, that she had just picked up from a restaurant.
