Kolleen Moore jailed after taking a swim in the Cumberland River in downtown Nashville

54-year-old Kolleen Moore took a dip in the Cumberland River and made the police call NFD to pull her out. MNPD arrived at River Front Park after concerned pedestrians thought Kolleen was drowning in the Cumberland River. There are signs that state, “No Swimming.” Police instructed her to exit the water, and she refused, yelling to them that she wanted to continue to swim. Police told her to come to them, and she began swimming away. NFD was called to retrieve her via a boat, and she was placed into custody for evading arrest and disorderly conduct.

Man who jumped off pedestrian bridge into Cumberland River arrested — Jason Phillips

21-year-old Jason Phillips jumped off the pedestrian bridge and into the Cumberland River just before 1 a.m. Sunday. Metro Nashville Police observed him swimming to the West shore near Broadway and 1st Ave S., and allowed him to be cleared by NFD medics before taking him into custody for public intoxication. Police say he still reeked of alcohol, had slurred speech, and had very dilated pupils.

John Holman, Jr. drove into Cumberland River after allegedly killing girlfriend

North Precinct detectives have sworn out an arrest warrant charging John E. Holman Jr. with criminal homicide for the apparent beating death of his girlfriend inside her 21st Avenue North residence. Holman, 51, is in custody in Clarksville. The victim, Donna Adams, 46, was found deceased by officers who forced entry into her home shortly before 7 a.m. Nashville’s Emergency Communications Center received a call from Clarksville Police at 6:40 a.m. concerning Holman, who was in their custody after running his vehicle into the Cumberland River.
