John Angellotti strangles girlfriend during altercation at Double Tree Hotel

34-year-old John Thomas Angellotti had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Tara Tanner, at the Double Tree Hotel on 4th Avenue North in the early hours of January 1st. Tanner advised officers that Angellotti prevented her from leaving by holding her down against the bed and strangling her. Then, she ran to the bathroom, where she knew a knife was located to protect herself. Angellotti grabbed it from her, cutting his thumb amid the action. Tanner told them that she had pretended to go to bed so she could sneak out, but Angellotti woke up and grabbed her. She managed to break free and escape to the lobby. Hotel staff put her in a back office and contacted the authorities. Officers arrived and observed Angellotti searching for her in the lobby. Officers were told that Tanner wished to prosecute, and then Angellotti was taken into custody for aggravated assault.

Drunk downtown tourist Thomas Noble believes he’s in 2023 Las Vegas

37-year-old Thomas Noble was staying at the Double Tree Hotel in downtown Nashville Tuesday night. The hotel he returned to after a night of downtown drinking, however, was the Omni Hotel, just south of Broadway and about a 15-minute walk away. Hotel staff says Noble had been at their hotel lobby for “several hours,” during which they kept attempting to return him to his proper hotel. They eventually arranged for a taxi to take him to the Double Tree, but when it arrived, he refused to get inside. Police eventually had to be called and say Noble was extremely intoxicated and believed it was 2023 and that he was in Nevada. He was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.
