41-year-old Schander Hassan was booked on the citation of assault on April 16th. On March 24th, around 12:30 a.m. at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Michelle Hicks, an employee, approached officers and advised them that Hassan had struck her in the head with a used urinal bin. Hassan was cited for the incident.
20-year-old Devin Jackson had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Nia Kendall Robinson, at his West Heiman Street apartment around 2:00 a.m. on April 15th. Robinson called the police to the Radisson Hotel on Airport Center Drive. When they arrived, she told them that she and Jackson argued after she found out he had been cheating on her. He threatened to kill her if she told his mom and started destroying her belongings, so she tried to get between him and her suitcases, where he struck her on the side of the face. After Jackson hit her, he mounted her and put his hands around her neck, attempting to strangle her. Robinson told officers she started kicking and fighting to get from underneath him, and he spit on her repeatedly and squeezed her arms, leaving visible bruises. She added that he stood in front of the door, hindering her from leaving his room, until she got away and had a friend give her a ride to the Hotel. Jackson was then taken into custody for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.
26-year-old William Leathers was speeding in his blue 2017 Mustang near Rivergate Parkway around 4:47 p.m. on February 27th. Officers observed him going 80 mph in a 40 mph zone during rush hour traffic. Leathers was observed passing several vehicles and causing them to swerve to prevent a collision. Then, Leathers drove through a yellow light, not allowing time to stop if it were to turn red. Leathers was cited for the incident that day. Leathers was booked on the citation of reckless driving on April 19th.
33-year-old MMA Fighter Shane Vincent Tuohy had a single-vehicle accident on I-24 West near Mile Marker 61.0 on April 8th. When officers arrived, they noticed Tuohy was unsteady and had to be seated on the curb for safety. He told officers that he had passed out and did not realize that he had struck a guardrail until he regained consciousness. Tuohy added that he believed he suffered a stroke. During an inventory vehicle search, officers located three empty Michelob Ultra 24 oz cans behind the passenger seat. Tuohy took a sobriety test in the back of the ambulance and showed signs of impairment. Then, officers transported him to Nashville General Hospital and Mirandized him, where he admitted to having 6 pints of Miller Lite from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Tuohy then agreed to provide a blood sample. Tuohy was booked on the citation of driving under the influence and insufficient evidence of compliance on April 19th.
23-year-old Bihany Basheer Abdullatif, a K&G Fashion Store employee, was booked on the citation of drag racing on April 19th. On March 23rd, officers observed Abdullatif and an unidentified individual in another vehicle at the Nolensville Pike and Haywood Lane intersection speeding off after the light turned green. The other car reached 81 mph in a 40 mph zone, and Abdullatif was pulling away from them in her 2016 Acura ILX. She was then cited for the incident.
29-year-old Mason Gage Oconner was slumped over at the wheel in his silver Acura near Old Hickory Boulevard and Hickory Trace Drive on the night of April 22nd. Multiple citizens observed this and alerted the authorities, flagging them down. When officers arrived, they noticed Oconner was hunched over with a glass pipe and tinfoil lying on his lap and stopped in the right traffic lane while his car was still running. After extensively commanding him to wake up, he finally regained consciousness and parked his car. Officers requested him to exit the vehicle, during which he tried to hide the glass pipe and tinfoil. Officers retrieved the paraphernalia and submitted it as evidence after they detained him. Under Miranda, he admitted to ingesting fentanyl before driving, so officers requested a medic to evaluate him. After being medically cleared, he agreed to provide a blood sample. Oconner was taken into custody for driving under the influence and the unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
22-year-old Nghia Nguyen was taken into custody for a felony drug offense on April 22nd. On December 10th, 2023, detectives conducted a “controlled buy” operation with a criminal informant. The informant called Nguyen and was directed to go to a parking lot near Lebanon Pike and Central Pike, where officers observed via surveillance that Ngyuen provided a felonious number of pills for the pre-agreed amount of money. After the informant left, officers field-tested the narcotics, and they returned positive for ecstasy. On April 2nd, 2024, a warrant was issued for Nguyen’s arrest.
39-year-old Keith Naples pulled the plants off the property at The Drift Hotel on Interstate Drive late April 21st. Upon arrival, officers spoke with security, who advised that a bald, white male wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans, later identified as Naples, was uprooting the plants. They located him behind the hotel, showing numerous signs of impairment and reeking of alcohol. Then, officers observed a plant ripped out, which the hotel staff replanted, adding that they did not wish to prosecute for the vandalism. Naples was taken into custody for public intoxication.
37-year-old Christa Tull tried to leave without paying her tab at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge around 2 a.m. on April 22nd. When officers arrived, they noticed Tull was detained, and they met with Brandon Schneider, a security guard for Tootsie’s, who stated that after she refused to pay, he asked her if they could keep her ID so she could come back and handle the balance when she sobered up. He said Tull took a deep breath and reached in her purse, looking back and forth at him multiple times before telling him, “I just want to go home.” Tull then pulled out a black pocket knife, so he grabbed her and took the knife away, fearing she would use it on him. After this, he handcuffed her and waited for the police. Matt Mosely, a witness, told officers that he saw the entire incident take place and corroborated Schneider’s statements. Tull admitted to pulling the knife from her purse but stated it was an accident. Tull was taken into custody for aggravated assault.
39-year-old Franklin Neal was found passed out behind Wingstop on Old Hickory Boulevard late April 20th. Upon arrival, officers located Neal and noticed he kept dozing off, showing signs of impairment, so they deemed him a danger to himself and others. When they stood him up, they saw a small baggie of crystal meth underneath him. Neal was then taken into custody for simple possession and public intoxication.
