Metro Nashville Police say 22-year-old Patrick Thomas was on lower Broadway in downtown Nashville when he became injured in an unknown incident. Nashville Fire’s Medic 9 responded and began treating Thomas at the scene in the back of an ambulance, but he refused any additional transport to a hospital for further care. He was extremely intoxicated and unable to care for himself, and officers were unable to determine anyone he was with, where he was staying, or anyone to call to collect him. As it was determined he would be charged with public intoxication and transported to jail, Thomas was handcuffed while in the back of the ambulance. Now in cuffs, Thomas suddenly lunged forward past the MNPD officer and jumped out of the ambulance, and fled on foot for over two blocks before officers caught up with him on Gay Street, where he was taken to the ground by force.
Metro Nashville Police Officers working the Entertainment District Initiative in downtown Nashville observed 21-year-old Sultan Nassir Al Shareef extremely intoxicated and disorderly in front of Jason Aldean’s Bar in the early hours of Sunday morning. Al Shareef was fighting with security and had his legs wrapped around the security ropes. He pushed and shoved and refused to be cuffed by officers who were attempting to detain him. Eventually, he was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle but was too intoxicated to provide any information about himself. A friend who was nearby provided Shareef’s name and phone number. As he was being brought inside to booking, Al Shareef attempted to run out and jumped over multiple DCSO guards to get out of the Sally port. He was eventually overpowered and processed.
On April 4th, Emad Henary called police to report he was watching a live security feed of 3 teens outside his Stop-N-Shop market at 5100 Indiana Ave attempting to break into the front door of the business. Officers quickly responded and located the 3 individuals, identified as Bryce Orr, William York, and Lesean Shye, each 18-years-old. Officers viewed the footage which showed a chain on the front door and the trio attempting to gain entry. They claim the owner asked them to come so they could talk about a “past incident”, however one of the trio admitted to detectives they came to the location to rob the store. Each teen is charged with attempted burglary and possession of burglary tools. As Shye was being escorted to the patrol car he fled and was re-captured after a brief foot pursuit. He is additionally charged with escaping custody.
