28-year-old Spencer Still, a cashier at Walmart, was jailed Wednesday after stealing approximately $5,400 from the store. Police spoke with a loss prevention employee who informed them that Still admitted stealing multiple gift cards and cash of various amounts from March 2023 to May 2023. Still told police the gift cards were for Nintendo, Xbox, Apple, and PlayStation.
39-year-old Roberto Gonzalez Valdes is jailed in lieu of a $75,000 bond on a charge of criminal simulation of $1,000 or less. Officers, including agents from the Secret Service, observed Gonzalez use a programmed plastic card to pay for gas at Gallatin Pike Mapco station on Jul 13th. A vehicle search resulted in multiple gift cards that had been programmed using a card reader/writer to change the gift card number embedded in the magstripe on the card. He received $175 in gas during the current transaction using the altered card number.
Cdarria Thompson, a cashier at Kroger in East Nashville was arrested on Monday on a felony charge for theft / gift card fraud. Per an MNPD affidavit, Cdarria Thompson has been working at the East Nashville Kroger location for the past 11 months.
