33-year-old Jacob Marion Manning had a domestic altercation with his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, Alexandria Wallace, on February 13th. Wallace told the police that she met with Manning to drop off their child per their custodial agreement. Then, she said, while getting their child out of their car seat, Manning grabbed her phone from the center console. Manning told her he would return her phone when she returned his. Wallace further explained that she had paid $1,300 for Manning’s phone and a ticket when they were together. Then, she attempted to grab her phone from Manning’s pocket. Which Manning responded to by putting his hands on her face and pushing her to the ground.
After this, Wallace said Manning went to the car to continue getting their child out of the car. As he did this, Wallace tried to retrieve her phone from him again, reaching into his pocket. Then, Wallace added that Manning grabbed her hand and bent it backward, forcing her to the ground on her knees while yelling at her. Wallace noted that this left a visible cut on her right knee and middle finger. Later in the investigation, Manning told officers that he grabbed Wallace’s phone from her vehicle because he thought it was his. Manning then admitted that the phone was, in fact, not his. A warrant was issued for his arrest on September 3rd. Manning was taken into custody for domestic assault on September 10th.
