22-year-old Taylor Newell was drinking at the Arrington Wine Bar and Grill Sunday afternoon when she became so drunk she could not stand up, according to Airport Police. Officers found her passed out and slouched in a chair in the bar. As she woke up, she remained visibly intoxicated and reeked of alcohol. She then fell over into a seating area where people were sitting and had to be caught by police.
28-year-old Nicholas Moore was jailed this weekend after being denied boarding a Southwest flight at the Nashville International Airport due to his level of intoxication. He became belligerent with gate agents, and Airport Police responded to the incident. Moore was unable to remain standing without assistance and continued to be a disruption to the business. He attempted to have a family member retrieve him, but he escalated the situation and began to scream in an officer’s face.
41-year-old Robert Cirilo was jailed Monday when police observed he was too drunk to board his flight at Nashville International Airport. As officers were patrolling, they saw Cirilo standing in line at Tootsie’s Bar, clearly drunk. They walked over to him, and he said that his phone was dead and he was just trying to get home. He had slurred speech and alcohol coming from his breath as he spoke. Officers were told that Cirilo was denied boarding due to his level of intoxication. Officers made a phone call to a friend who informed them that Cirilo had a flight later that day. Officers helped Cirilo obtain a new ticket and walked him to his gate. Officers were called back to the gate shortly after due to Cirilo being disruptive, looking for his lost phone. He was visibly drunk and denied boarding once again. Officers asked him to gather his belongings that were scattered on the floor so they could escort him to a hotel, but he was too drunk to gather anything and was unable to care for himself.
41-year-old Mitchell Phy was at the Nashville International Airport at noon on Saturday when he fell over. Officers arrived to assist, believing he may be diabetic or having a medical episode, but he advised his issue wasn’t medical in nature but rather a matter of intoxication. He reportedly reeked of alcohol and was unable to even sit up without assistance. He was advised he was being taken into custody for public intoxication and was placed in a wheelchair to be transported to a patrol car. He was told to place his hands behind his back, and he refused and pulled away from officers, then forcefully struck an officer in the forehead. Phy was taken to the ground and cuffed and then kicked another officer in the leg.
23-year-old Jordan Kyle Lewis faces multiple charges after he attempted to rent a car at the Enterprise counter at the Nashville International Airport on November 13th. His Georgia identification, which listed him as ‘John Head’ was not verified as valid in their system, so they called Airport Police to verify it was valid. The clerk mentioned to him that officers were on the way to ensure it was good, and he fled the airport.
But wait, there’s more. Two hours later, Lewis returned to the airport in different clothing and appeared at the National counter for a second attempt to rent a car using his real information this time. The fake Georgia ID was found in his backpack. He is charged with felony forgery, felony criminal simulation, and criminal impersonation.
36-year-old tourist Roy Barnett, of Mississippi, was drinking at a bar inside the Nashville International Airport when he became loud and unruly, and his bartender cut him off before he became more intoxicated. Barnett began throwing change at the bartender, and causing a general disturbance, and had to be escorted from the bar by airport police. He was given the opportunity to leave the property but said he wasn’t paying for a cab, so he was taken into custody, charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct. Barnett is free on pre-trial release.
22-year-old Cassidy ‘Cass’ Crunkilton, of Wisconsin, told Airport Police she had 7 mimosas before arriving at the airport, where they found her in the gate too intoxicated to fly. When asked for her ID, she showed officers her Snapchat, then provided a store rewards card, neither of which helped her day go any smoother before she was eventually taken to the floor while resisting arrest. #Crunk
