Kossigan Nsougan steals woman’s iPhone at Rose Park

23-year-old Kossigan Nsougan was taken into custody for theft on March 15th. On May 9th, 2023, Kristen Hutchins reported that her iPhone had been taken from her bag at Rose Park on April 11th, 2023. She further explained that she had seen Nsougan sitting near her bag before realizing it was missing. Hutchins tracked the phone to Pheasant Drive, Nsougan’s residence, and sent messages to her phone saying she wanted the phone back. When detectives contacted Nsougan, he admitted to having the phone and that he would bring it to the Midtown Hills Precinct on May 4th, 2023. However, Nsougan has not returned the device and has not responded to any attempts at communication since then. Nsougan was taken into custody for theft on March 15th. 

Ripley Torbett, serial Target shoplifter, caught after two-month streak

24-year-old Ripley Grace Torbett stole merchandise from multiple Target locations between October and December 2023. On October 29th, at the Target on Old Hickory Boulevard, there is video footage showing Torbett taking a $149.99 Little Tikes Toy, a $549.99 Elvie Breast Pump, and a third unknown item up to the self-checkout and scanning them as $2.39 Himalayan Sea Salt. Then, she completed the transaction for the sea salt and left with the other three items, which she did not scan or pay for. The total value of the stolen items was $699.98. On November 8th, at the Target on Lebanon Pike, there is footage showing Torbett gathering $572 worth of merchandise before taking them to the self-checkout, scanning two items that were worth $1 each, and leaving without scanning or paying for the other two, increasing the total of items she stole from Target to $1,271.98. On December 6th, at Target on Charlotte Pike, there is video footage of Torbett going to the self-checkout pretending to ring up merchandise by waving the scanner over multiple items in her cart. She then used an EBT card to pay for $9.56 worth of grocery items but not for the other items, which totaled $607.71, and then left. Lydia Wheeler, a loss prevention employee for Target, submitted this shoplifting report to detectives with an identification sheet from the Murfreesboro Police Department. After reviewing the provided evidence, detectives were able to identify Torbett and she was taken into custody for two counts of theft on March 6th.

Kurdish Pride Gang Member Bejar Mustafa charged with multiple felony assaults

28-year-old Kurdish Pride Gang (KPG) member Bejar Mustafa was taken into custody late Thursday night on three outstanding warrants charging him with three counts of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police say in July 2020, he pulled his black Lexus alongside the vehicle of Ali Almosawi, just inches from his door. Mustafa reportedly rolled down his window and threatened to kill the victim or have his “boys” carry it out, while pointing a black handgun at the man.

In August 2022, Mustafa and Iden “brows” Salman approached a vehicle at a CVS on Harding Place, and Mustafa spat on Berrin Girismen, who was in the vehicle with Nazanin Ahmadzadegan. Mustafa and Salman chased the car as it fled, and Salman eventually fired two shots into it. He posted a $50,000 bond immediately after being booked.
