21-year-old California tourist Alyssa Herbst is charged with the assault of her brother while on a trip to Nashville this week. Alyssa, her husband Bryce Herbst, and her brother John King, were all walking back to their hotel from Titans Way just before 2 a.m. on May 24. The brother told police he got into an argument with his sister on the pedestrian bridge, and she punched him in the stomach and scratched him. Officers documented visible injuries to his chest and neck, along with a ripped shirt. Bryce confirmed the victim’s account of events, while Alyssa said she did not punch or scratch him. She was determined to be the primary aggressor and taken into custody.

Victoria Grissom charged with DUI after driving through construction site in Nashville

29-year-old Victoria Grissom was found driving around a private construction site on Adams Street late Tuesday night, and on-site security observed her driving into a closed gate and around the site. She appeared to be intoxicated and was detained until Metro Nashville Police could arrive. She admitted to having one cocktail and one shot of tequila before driving. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later blew a 0.161% BAC on a breathalyzer, twice the legal limit.

Officer Kevin Steiner wakes up homeless man to arrest him for trespassing at 7 a.m.

48-year-old Jason Conner was sleeping on 3rd Ave South in downtown Nashville at 7 a.m. on February 10 when Metro Nashville Police Officer Kevin Steiner woke him up and determined he smelled alcohol and was trespassing onto the property of 201 3rd Ave S. He took Conner into custody and charged him with criminal trespassing.

Van Darby Miller pepper sprayed at 7-Eleven after refusing to leave the property

Police say 24-year-old Van Darby Miller was trespassing at the 7-Eleven on Broadway in downtown Nashville late Sunday night and refused to leave. Both the security and an off-duty Millersville Police officer had asked him to leave the location, and eventually, Metro Nashville Police had to be called. Before their arrival, Miller was in an argument with the security guard, Isaac Thurman, who pepper-sprayed him.

Renauld Clayton charged in downtown DUI, argues he passed field sobriety tests

Police say 35-year-old Renauld Clayton made an illegal u-turn at 11th & Broadway, just one block away from his home, just after 11 p.m. Wednesday. Officers conducted a traffic stop and reported immediately smelling alcohol as they approached the vehicle. He claimed not to have consumed any alcohol, but his female passenger claimed the smell was coming from her. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests, despite arguing that he passed them all. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI. In 2020, Clayton was sentenced to 32 months in federal prison for his student loan fraud scheme at Tennessee State University, where he was an employee.

DUI: Armando Bucio vomiting from vehicle at Broadway intersection at 1 a.m.

27-year-old Armando Bucio was at the intersection of Broadway and 4th at 1:15 a.m. Saturday when officers observed him open his driver’s side door and vomit onto the ground. Officers approached to check on his welfare and immediately observed him to be extremely intoxicated. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and stated he had one Whisky & Coke and one shot of tequila prior to driving. He would later blow a 0.120% BAC on a breathalyzer.

James Winchester assaults two women & bites a man during Titans vs. Cowboys game at Nissan Stadium

52-year-old James Winchester was jailed during Thursday night’s Tennessee Titans game at Nissan Stadium after punching multiple people in section 310 during the game. As two women attempted to stop him from fighting, he punched them both and bit a man’s arm who was also attempting to intervene. It wasn’t clear if his tears were from the final score or a result of his arrest.

Jeremiah Walker charged after Printers Alley assault and tussle with police

Metro Nashville Police say 35-year-old Jeremiah Walker assaulted a security guard in Printers Alley in downtown Nashville early Saturday morning. As they responded to the scene, the manager of the venue advised Walker was now standing outside of The Whiskey Shot. Officers located Walker, who was trying to leave the area in an Uber, and advised he was being detained as the suspect in an assault. Walker refused to cooperate, refused to move out of the road, and tussled with officers. He was eventually taken into custody and transported to booking.

Christopher Charles Park spits in officer’s face during arrest for public intoxication in Nashville

25-year-old Christopher Charles Park was found passed out on the sidewalk near 12th & Broadway just before 1 a.m. Sunday. Park reeked of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet when he attempted to stand. He was not aware he was in Nashville and was unable to care for himself. He was placed into custody, and while Officer Steiner was tying the report in the front seat of the police car, Park spat in his face from the rear seat.

DUI: Jayda Buford found passed out behind wheel of her car in downtown Nashville at 4 a.m.

First responders found 23-year-old Jayda Buford passed out in the driver’s seat of her vehicle, which was blocking traffic at 6th & Demonbreun in downtown Nashville just before 4 a.m. Saturday. Once oriented and aware, she stated she had “two ClubTails” and an additional alcoholic drink. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to booking and charged with DUI.
