Chena Zebari booked after failing to appear in court or pay the fines for multiple citations

33-year-old Chena Zebari was texting while driving without a seatbelt on Nolensville Pike in the early hours of January 4th, 2023. Officers observed this at a green light, conducted a traffic stop, and cited her for the violations that day. Zebari failed to pay her fines or appear in court by September 15th, 2023, so a warrant was issued for her arrest. Additionally, Zebari never finished paying her fees for a simple possession citation from December 2014. On April 7th, 2024, Zebari was booked on the citations for simple possession and driving with a cell device.

Inspirational Speaker Patrick Walker-Reese fails to appear in court for using phone while driving

37-year-old Inspirational Speaker Patrick Walker-Reese was using his phone and tapping his screen while driving down I-40 near mile marker 209 in the early hours of April 23rd, 2023. Officers observed this and conducted a traffic stop, and then he was cited for driving while using his cell phone. Walker-Reese failed to pay the fine or appear in court on June 16th, 2023, so on August 18th, 2023, a warrant was issued for his arrest. Walker-Reese was taken into custody on March 25th.

De’Sean Keys jailed after failing to appear on texting while driving citation

28-year-old De’Sean Keys was holding his cell phone in his hand and tapping on the screen while driving his 2012 Kia Sorento on April 12, 2023. He was observed by THP Trooper Matthew Priest, who conducted a traffic stop on I-65 South near mile marker 86. He was issued a state citation and ordered to appear in court in June and again in August. He failed to appear for a court date, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was booked into jail this week on the outstanding citation for texting while driving.

Chester Rice booked on citation for not wearing seat belt

68-year-old Chester Rice was booked on a citation from February 7th, 2023. Police pulled Chester over in his Hyundai Sonata for not wearing a seat belt. Chester failed to appear in court for the citation and was taken into custody on December 31st

Travis Mitchell failed to appear in court for driving while using his cellphone in 2022

36-year-old Travis Ramsey Mitchell drove down Old Hickory Boulevard while looking down at his cell phone in December 2022. Officers observed this, conducted a traffic stop, and cited him for the violation. He failed to appear in court and was issued an arrest warrant. Mitchell was booked on the citation for driving with a cell device on December 28th.

Syerea Elam booked after driving without wearing her seatbelt

40-year-old Syerea Elam was booked this week on a citation issued by a THP Trooper in February for not wearing a seatbelt in her Honda CR-V.

DUI: Mark Powell says he may have hallucinated seeing a deer on interstate & crashing into a car

52-year-old Mark Powell was driving on I-24 just before lunch Tuesday as he left his lane and made contact with another vehicle, causing them both to pull to the side of the interstate to file a report. The driver of the impacted vehicle contacted THP, stating that Powell was “not acting right” and was possibly intoxicated. Trooper Priest arrived and Powell claimed there was a deer on the interstate and he swerved to avoid it, but was unable to do so and impacted the deer. However, the other driver stated no deer was present. He then said he ran into the truck and not the deer, then seemed really confused about dates and times, and was holding onto his car for balance. He admitted to taking Xanax and Oxycodone, and states his medicines sometimes cause him to hallucinate.
