Kemar Salamon assaults baby-mama during argument over car keys

35-year-old Kemar Salamon had a domestic incident with the mother of his child, Brittany Pridemore, on April 20th. Officers were finishing up a traffic stop when Pridemore flagged them down, advising them that she and Salamon had gotten into a fight over her keys. While talking to her, they noticed visible marks on her face and neck. She told them that the injuries were from Salamon attacking her. Salamon told officers that he and Pridemore argued over the car keys and their child, but he never put his hands on her. After officers noticed the fresh abrasions on her skin, they deemed Salamon the primary aggressor and detained him. Salamon was taken into custody for domestic assault.   

Carter Driscoll kicked out of Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge

26-year-old Carter Robert Driscoll was taken into custody for public intoxication on April 20th. Around 9 p.m., officers were flagged down by Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge security regarding an impaired individual, later identified as Driscoll. When officers arrived, he had already been detained by security. Officers noticed he had enlarged pupils, was very pale, and sweated profusely, consistent with someone who is under the influence of alcohol or narcotics. Then, officers spoke with security, who stated Driscoll had pushed her and other patrons while in the establishment. She added that he was talking gibberish and declined medical assistance. Driscoll was mumbling nonsensical phrases and refused to answer any officers. He was then deemed a danger to himself and others and was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Brandon Thornton charged with kidnapping after dragging girlfriend into car during altercation

36-year-old Brandon Joe Thornton had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Morgan Beavers, near the Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital around 11:56 a.m. on April 21st. Officers initiated a call for service after observing a woman being dragged into a car, which Kate Melby, an employee at the District Attorney’s Office, also witnessed. Thornton also called the police regarding the incident. When officers arrived, they spoke with Beavers, who told them she was in the passenger seat while Thornton drove her car. Beavers stated that he started to behave erratically and began punching her in the leg. She said she waited for Thornton to slow the vehicle down and then jumped out, fearing for her safety. Then, Beavers said he exited the car, wrapped his arms around her, and dragged her back into the car, leaving a friction burn on her buttocks. After this, Thornton drove her to the Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital. Thornton told officers that Beavers struck him in the face. Despite this, officers observed no visible injuries on Thornton. Thornton added that Beavers was intoxicated and jumped out of a moving vehicle, so he picked her up and forced her back into the car for her safety. Thornton was taken into custody for kidnapping and domestic assault.

Tyler Shelton caught with “white, powdery substance” in bathroom at Barstool Nashville

24-year-old Tyler Shelton was caught in the bathroom by Mr. Green, a security guard at Barstool Nashville, with a “white, powdery substance” on April 21st. Green flagged officers down, advising that Shelton was being removed from the bar. Green stated that he observed Shelton in the bathroom with a clear bag containing a “white, powdery substance.” When officers located Shelton, he reeked of alcohol and stated he had been drinking since “early this afternoon.” During their interaction, Shelton became agitated and tried to walk away. In response, officers then grabbed and detained him. Mr. Meadows, another security guard for the location, told officers that he had witnessed Shelton throw a clear bag near him, prompting him to pick it up and alert the officers. Officers weighed the bag containing the white mystery substance and found it to be approximately 1.7 grams. Shelton was then taken into custody for the unlawful possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication.

Tyler Brown caught with cocaine in his sock after drunken fight near Cambria Hotel

32-year-old Tyler Antuan Brown was involved in an alleged scuffle near the Cambria Hotel on 8th Avenue in the early hours of April 20th. Upon arrival, officers located witnesses who pointed out Brown and approached him. When they spoke with Brown, they noticed he showed signs of intoxication and were advised that he did not know where he was staying for the night. Brown also told officers that he had lost contact with his friends. Officers then detained Brown for the incident. While being turned over to DCSO, deputies found a small baggie of cocaine in his sock. Brown was taken into custody for public intoxication and contraband in a penal institution.

DUI: Alexander Salyers crashes car on Old Hickory Boulevard after having 3-4 drinks

23-year-old Alexander Salyers had a single-vehicle accident near Old Hickory Boulevard on April 20th. Officers were advised about the crash via a third-party caller. When officers arrived, they located Salyers, who appeared confused, staring at the damage to his vehicle. Then, he told officers he was unaware of how the accident occurred and admitted to having three to four alcoholic drinks before driving. Salyers consented to sobriety tests and then performed poorly. Officers searched his vehicle and located a loaded Sig Sauer pistol and an open 12-ounce Miller Lite. Salyers was taken into custody for driving under the influence and an open container violation.

DUI: Choice Yates flees in Ford Focus after crash on 4th Avenue North

28-year-old Choice Edward Yates was taken into custody for driving under the influence on April 20th. Officers observed a Ford Focus that a witness reported had been used in a hit-and-run, pulling out of a garage onto 4th Avenue North. Yates told officers that he had three shots at the bar. The officers noticed he was “delayed” in putting the vehicle in park, along with displaying a “glossy look in his eyes” so they asked him to take sobriety tests, which he consented to and showed numerous signs of impairment. Yates was then taken into custody for driving under the influence.  

DUI: Jonas Schmidt causes accident on I-24

23-year-old Jonas Schmidt was involved in a two-vehicle accident with Terry Mann at the intersection of Harding Place and I-24 West on April 19th. Upon arrival, officers located Schmidt and noticed he reeked of alcohol as he told them that he had three to four alcoholic beverages before driving. They had him take sobriety tests, where he performed poorly, so they read him implied consent, and he agreed to provide a breath sample, resulting in 0.131 BAC%. Schmidt was then taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Navia Scales pulls boyfriend’s hair after he takes her phone

25-year-old Navia Scales had a domestic altercation with her boyfriend, Nicolas Roberson, at their Brentridge Apartment on April 14th. Roberson called the police, stating that Scales pulled his hair, so when officers arrived, they interviewed the couple. They both told officers that Scales had called someone on the phone, which sparked an argument. During the argument, Robertson had taken Scales’ phone out of her hand. In response, Scales pulled his hair out so he would return her phone. Scales was deemed the primary aggressor and then was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Cody Williams found “convulsing” on floor, chases roommate with broken picture frame

33-year-old Cody Williams was involved in a domestic altercation with his roommate, Michelle Coleman, at their Dale View home on April 13th. Coleman stated that she had heard a very loud crash coming from Williams’s room and had noticed him “convulsing” on the floor. Coleman then tried to assist Williams, but he woke up and began acting erratic. Coleman then left the room for her safety, and Williams came running from the bedroom, chasing after her with a broken picture frame.  Coleman stated she was in fear of bodily injury and had run away from the residence. Williams claimed he saw a cat enter the home and was trying to chase it out. Williams had also denied taking any drugs but had similar erratic behavior with police. Police took Williams into custody and booked him for domestic assault on April 14th.
