Khaled Abed & stepson attack man, drag him in street

58-year-old Khaled Abed and his stepson, Nooruldeen Opel, scuffled with their guest, Leith El-Mohammed, at their Woodland Pointe Drive residence on March 27th. When officers arrived, they spoke with El-Mohammed, who stated he had stayed the night at Abed and Opel’s while searching for a place to live. Then, he said an argument ensued, where Opel told him to leave, so he did. While exiting, Opel told Abed to come outside, then they attacked El-Mohammed in the middle of the street and dragged him to the ground. El-Mohammed provided officers with footage from his cell phone, showing Opel and Abed throwing punches at him before it became indiscernible. He advised officers that he wished to prosecute them for the attack. Officers noticed El-Mohammed had minor abrasions to his left elbow and right knuckles. Abed and Opel were cited for the incident. Abed and Opel then failed to appear in court or pay fines by April 11th. Abed was booked on the citation of assault on April 15th.

Sabah Abdullah assaults woman after accusing her of hitting him with cart at Sam’s Club

56-year-old Sabah Abdullah had an altercation with Niresha Atkins at Sam’s Club on Antioch Pike on March 28th. Niresha Atkins told officers that Abdullah came up to her and accused her of hitting him with her cart and tried to hold her there, not letting her leave. Then, she said he started throwing items out of her cart, which several witnesses confirmed. Sharon Jackson, a witness, told officers that she did not see Atkins hit Abdullah with a cart but said she observed him get in her face and throw her items. He was cited for the incident and booked on the citation for assault on April 16th.

Calvin Perkins attempts to fight multiple people while in handcuffs, tells them he will “mess them up”

20-year-old Calvin Dewain Perkins was involved in a fight near The Walk of Fame Park in the early hours of April 17th. When officers arrived, they noticed Perkins was detained by security, who advised them that he had seen him in a scuffle nearby. Then, while officers spoke with Perkins, he kept yelling at people walking by, telling them he would fight them and “mess them up.” While in handcuffs, he tried to charge at several people while threatening officers and bystanders. Perkins was taken into custody for disorderly conduct.

DUI: Daniel Mignacca crashes on Murfreesboro Pike after drinking Bud Ice

53-year-old Daniel Mignacca left the scene after being in a car accident near the Publix on Murfreesboro Pike on April 17th. The other party involved called the police and provided them with photos of Mignacca’s car when they arrived. The passenger advised them that Mignacca had been drinking. Officers ran the license plate, which returned to a Shadowbrook Trail South residence, where they went and located Mignacca, who admitted he was involved in the crash near Publix, adding that he had one can of Bud Ice. Officers noticed he reeked of alcohol and asked him to take sobriety tests, which he consented to and performed poorly. Mignacca was then taken into custody for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.

Brian Barrett punches juvenile son multiple times in face because he was “being disrespectful”

On April 15th, 38-year-old Brian Barrett was involved in a domestic incident with his juvenile son at their Seifried Street home. Officers arrived on the scene and spoke with his son. He stated Barrett had struck him in the back, which caused a verbal argument between the two. The argument then turned physical after Barrett threw a beer can at him. The juvenile then stated that Barrett started punching him in the face and backed him into a corner. This led to another physical altercation between the two, where the juvenile punched Barrett in the face. Barrett then got on top of the juvenile, pulled his hair, bit him on his arm, and punched him multiple times. Officers then spoke with a witness, who reported that the verbal disagreement started because Barrett thought his son was “being disrespectful.” She also stated that she did not know who threw the first punch. Officers also spoke with Barrett, who stated that he and his son went outside to walk the dog, and he was punched multiple times. Barrett stated he did not remember anything besides being punched numerous times. Officers deemed Barrett to be the primary aggressor, and he was taken into custody for domestic assault. Barrett also had a similar domestic assault incident in December 2023.

DUI: Karlie Tankersley caught with 6 Xanax after crashing car on Burkitt Road

31-year-old Karlie Tankersley had a single-vehicle accident on Burkitt Road on April 17th. When officers arrived, they located Tankersley, who was taken to the ambulance but refused to be transported to the emergency room. She stated she had a glass of wine about an hour before driving, so she was asked to take sobriety tests, which she consented to and performed poorly. Officers deemed her too impaired to drive her vehicle, and she was detained. When she was handed over to DCSO, a search located six and a half white Xanax pills in the back of her wallet. Tankersley was taken into custody for an implied consent violation, driving under the influence, and contraband in a penal institution.

James Burks speeds 95 mph down I-24 in Camaro

26-year-old James Douglas Burks was speeding on I-24 East near miler marker 55 on June 23rd, 2023. Officers observed him going 95 mph in a 55 mph zone in his 2018 Chevrolet Camaro and conducted a traffic stop. Burks was cited for the incident and booked on the citation for speeding on April 17th, 2024.

DUI: Jalen Mitchell speeds down I-40 East at 100mph in Honda Civic after having two margaritas

23-year-old Jalen Lovetta Mitchell sped past officers in her white Honda Civic on I-40 East in the early hours of April 17th. Officers observed her going approximately 100 mph in a 60 to 70 mph zone and then conducted a traffic stop. Officers noticed Mitchell reeked of alcohol as they approached. She admitted to consuming two margaritas and smoking a blunt earlier in the afternoon. Then, Mitchell took sobriety tests, performed poorly, and after being informed of implied consent, agreed to provide a breath sample. Her breath sample resulted in 0.138 BAC% after blowing three straight insufficient samples. Mitchell was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

DUI: Michael Givan drives erratically down I-24 East, tells police he was “trying to keep up with his parents”

19-year-old Michael Givan was seen swerving in his lane at Interstate 24 East on April 16th. Officers closely observed Givan continue to do this and rapidly change his speed. A traffic stop was conducted when Givan’s erratic behavior continued. When officers contacted Givan, they noticed two passengers in the back seat and another in the front seat. Givan was questioned about how he was driving, and he stated that he was “trying to keep up with his parents,” who were in front of him. While speaking to Givan, an officer reportedly noticed the smell of marijuana coming from his vehicle. Givan appeared nervous to the officer, so he asked for his license, which he said he left at home. Givan was told to exit the car and was asked if he had any marijuana on him or inside his vehicle. Givan shortly confessed that there was a bag of marijuana on the driver’s side door. Officers returned to the car to seize the bag of marijuana but instead found that Givan’s step-brother, Anthony Allen, climbed across the center console into the driver’s seat. Allen also appeared to be under the influence of marijuana, so he was told to exit the car. Givan was asked if Allen had any marijuana in his possession, and Givan told them that he believed he did.

Officers asked Allen if there was any marijuana on his person, and he admitted that there was. The two other passengers were asked to leave the vehicle so officers could search it. Officers located a plastic baggie containing marijuana and a blue backpack containing a plastic sandwich bag with several marijuana joints inside. During the search, law enforcement found that Givan’s license was suspended in Kentucky for failing to complete traffic school. An officer requested Givan to perform sobriety tests to see if he could still operate his car. Givan consented to the sobriety tests but performed poorly. The total amount of marijuana seized was 19.1 grams.

Michael Givan was taken into custody and charged with simple possession, driving under the influence, and driving on a suspended license on April 17th.
