Dickson Police Captain Ronald Hobson charged in brutal assault during Kid Rock concert

56-year-old City of Dickson Police Captain Ronald Hobson is on administrative leave after being jailed in Nashville Saturday, charged with a felony aggravated assault that sent a man to the hospital. Hobson was attending the Kid Rock concert at Bridgestone Arena. According to a half-dozen witnesses who observed the incident, Hobson was standing at his seat neat the first row of section 102 and refused to sit down despite person after person telling him he was blocking their view of the concert. Another blocked patron, Gilbert Keifer, was two rows behind Hobson and also asked him to sit down as he was obstructing the view. Hobson then began a verbal argument with the victim. This quickly escalated as Hobson pushed him and grabbed him in a “full Nelson choke hold” before briefly releasing him. Hobson then grabbed him a second time and threw him down a set of stairs and over the railing. After the victim was on the ground, the police Captain then walked o him and kicked him several times while he was on the ground, unable to move. Police spoke with over a half-dozen witnesses who confirmed all of the events.

In a statement to Scoop: Nashville, the Dickson Police Department stated they are “aware of an incident involving one of its detectives at a concert in Nashville Saturday, July 8. Per department policy, Capt. Ron Hobson has been placed on administrative leave pending resolution of the investigation. A 20-year veteran of the department, Capt. Hobson is part of the Criminal Investigations/Narcotics Division.”

Luke Ratliff refuses to cooperate after DUI traffic stop on I-40: 102 in a 70mph zone

It took the presence and force of three THP Troopers and two Metro Nashville Police officers to escort 40-year-old Lucas Andrew Ratliff from his vehicle to the ground after a DUI traffic stop and assistance from two security guards at Metro General Hospital to hold him down for a forced blood draw on November 21st. Troopers initially stopped Ratliff on I-40, where he was paced at 102 mph in a 70 mph zone. During the traffic stop, Ratliff would not make eye contact with officers and had slurred speech, and refused to exit the vehicle, stating he “does not want to.” A warrant was granted for his blood, and he was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail and charged with DUI.

NY Cop Jesse Calgcagni jailed after assaulting off-duty MJPD cop working security downtown

A Mount Juliet Police Officer working a security job at a downtown Nashville bar late Saturday night says the security team was escorting a patron out of the venue when a member of that patron’s friend group, 31-year-old off-duty NY police officer Jesse Calgcagni, became aggressive and jumped on the back of one of the security staff members and began to push the others. He was quickly tackled and escorted downstairs and restrained by security in the alley until Metro Nashville Police Officers arrived. They noted he reeked of alcohol and was repeatedly yelling, “Are you Metro?” Calcagni was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

Retired California Cop charged with assaulting two of his children in Nashville — Ron Epp arrested

Newly retired 55-year-old police officer Ronald Epp was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail early Wednesday morning, where he was placed on a 12-hour domestic violence hold, charged with the assault of two of his children. The family was staying at an AirBNB in Nashville and had been out enjoying downtown Nashville. As they were preparing to leave downtown his daughter, Peyton Epp, attempted to stop her father from driving, due to his high level of intoxication. He reportedly grabbed her and pulled her from the vehicle, and then twisted her wrist for an extended period of time, as confirmed by the other family members.

In addition to this assault, while in the backyard of the AirBNB, the father slapped and shoved one of his sons, Dawson Epp, during an outburst. Ronald Epp was charged with domestic assault with bodily injury, and domestic assault Prov/Offensive contact. He is free on a $3,500 cash bond.
