20-year-old Ke’darius Haynes was observed receiving a large plastic bag of marijuana at the Clarksville Pike Save a Lot on July 17th. Detectives were surveilling the establishment when they noticed a maroon Honda sedan backing up next to a white Toyota, where Haynes was sitting as a passenger. Haynes exited the car and entered the passenger side of the Honda for less than 30 seconds. During this, he had a brief conversation with the driver, was handed a bag of marijuana, and exchanged handshakes before re-entering the Toyota. Detectives followed the Toyota and conducted a traffic stop, during which they detained Haynes and the driver. Officers discovered a two-ounce bag of marijuana inside Haynes’ pants. Officers then located another two-ounce bag of marijuana wedged between the passenger seat and the center console. Under Miranda, Haynes stated he agreed to meet with the individual in the Honda via Instagram to purchase two “zips.” A “zip” is slang for two ounces of marijuana. The total amount of marijuana found was 114.3 grams/4 ounces. Haynes was then taken into custody for possession with intent.

Clarence Wilson caught with over 18 pounds of marijuana at Nashville International Airport
29-year-old Clarence Wilson had drugs concealed in his luggage at the Nashville International Airport on July 11th. Detective Swisher deployed his narcotics detection K-9, Peggy, on a run of luggage from Spirit Flight 119. Peggy then gave a positive indication to a grey hard-sided “SWISS” suitcase with the tag name “WILSON/CLARENCE.” Once the bag was claimed, investigators approached Wilson, who consented to a search of his bag. During the search, officers discovered he had 14 vacuum-sealed bundles of marijuana, wrapped in numerous sweatshirts inside a large blanket with scented car fresheners, totaling 8,164.65 grams. When officers asked Wilson for his identification, he attempted to flee, disregarding their commands to stop. Officers also searched Wilson’s carry-on bag, where they found six 1-gram containers of THC wax and 2.5 28-gram packages of marijuana. Wilson was then taken into custody for evading arrest and possession with intent.
Lakota Hall caught with 8 pounds of marijuana in suitcase at Nashville International Airport
24-year-old Lakota Hall was caught with 8 pounds of marijuana while at the Nashville International Airport on July 10th. Officers were investigating a flight from Los Angeles, California, scheduled to arrive in Nashville. When officers arrived, they deployed their narcotics-detecting K-9, Peggy, to sniff luggage. During the deployment, Peggy showed a change in behavior to a purple suitcase that displayed Hall’s name. Officers approached Hall, identified him, and asked if the bag was his. Once Hall admitted the bag was his, he consented to a bag search, telling officers to “open it up.” Upon searching Hall’s bag, officers located seven vacuum-sealed bags that contained marijuana. Also in the suitcase was another vacuum-sealed bag that contained eight 1-gram jars of marijuana, two 80-gram packages of THC edibles, one 50-gram package of edibles containing a total of 100 mg of THC, and five pre-rolled joints. The total weight of the marijuana was eight pounds. Hall was then detained and taken into custody for possession with intent to sell.
DUI: William Alexander crashes on interstate with two pounds of THC gummies & joint
27-year-old William Cagle Alexander drove a U-Haul truck into a concrete wall on I-40 East near Mile Marker 208.6 in the early hours of May 22nd. When officers arrived, they noticed the U-Haul truck disabled with heavy front-end damage and a white dump truck in front of it. They spoke with the dump truck driver, who stated they were working in the left-hand lane with digital signs, informing traffic to move over when Alexander struck the vehicle from behind. Alexander told officers he saw the truck and thought it was still moving despite the digital signs. During their interaction, they noticed he showed signs of impairment and smelled slightly like alcohol, so they prompted him with sobriety tests, which he consented to and performed poorly.
They detained him and searched his vehicle, where they located a 2-pound 7-ounce bag of Delta 9 THC gummies on the passenger floorboard and a partially smoked marijuana joint. After being informed of implied consent, he declined to provide them with a chemical sample, so they obtained a warrant for a blood draw. Alexander was transported to Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital and was taken into custody for driving under the influence- 2nd offense and felony drug possession.
Ladarius Stevenson caught with Xanax, meth, and marijuana in stolen car
27-year-old Ladarius Tyree Stevenson was observed driving a Dodge Journey, which was reported stolen by Beverly Westfall, in the Gallatin Pike North Dollar General parking lot on March 22nd, 2023. Officers then detained him. During a subsequent search, they found four small baggies that contained 232 Xanax pills in his front pocket, folded aluminum foil with .1 grams of meth, and a backpack with 1.3 grams of marijuana. He tried to flee but was quickly apprehended and placed into the patrol vehicle. Stevenson was taken into custody for felony possession of a Schedule IV drug on May 14th, 2024.
Nicholas Brown caught with 175 grams of marijuana after drug bust on warrant from Pennsylvania
28-year-old Nicholas Brown was taken into custody for possession of a firearm with intent, felony possession, the unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and simple possession on May 4th. On March 5th, around 8 p.m., Hermitage Precinct Community Field Intelligence Team Detectives attempted to serve a full extradition warrant out of Pennsylvania on Brown at his Walton Lane residence. They spoke with Charles Littleton, the homeowner, who went to knock on Brown and Isaiah McKnight’s bedroom door. The two suspects jumped out of the bedroom window into the wood line nearby. McKnight was then placed into custody. Littleton allowed detectives to search Brown’s bedroom, where they discovered a Palmetto State Armory 9mm handgun under his desk, 175 grams of marijuana on his bed, a bag of psychedelic mushrooms grow kit on a shelf with another active bag of grow in the closet, 5 grams of mushrooms on the desk and a digital gram scale next to his driver’s license. Warrants were issued for Brown’s arrest on March 14th.
Hector Gonzales-Lopez caught with various drugs in his trap house
34-year-old Hector Alberto Gonzales-Lopez was stopped in a vehicle near his residence on January 5th, 2023. During the traffic stop, officers located a trap house in the engine bay area containing 183 grams of Fentanyl and 42 grams of meth. When officers executed a search warrant on Hector’s home, where they discovered 123 grams of Fentanyl, 5 grams of cocaine, 49 Oxycodone pills, 5 grams of meth, and $4,222 cash. On January 8th, 2024, officers obtained warrants for his arrest. Gonzales-Lopez was taken into custody for three counts of felony possession on May 2nd, 2024.
Saory Espinoza caught with 195 grams of marijuana after friend speeds down Donelson Pike
20-year-old Saory Espinoza rode as a passenger while Joshua Lira sped and swerved between lanes in his silver Infiniti near Donelson Pike around 7:15 p.m. on April 30th. While officers patrolled airport property, they observed this and conducted a traffic stop on the car. Officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, giving them probable cause to search the car. During their search, they located a black Calvin Klein backpack in the backseat containing 195 grams of marijuana, separated into small baggies and a small scale. Lira had $350 in cash on his person and advised officers that the contents of the bag belonged to Espinoza. Espinoza corroborated Lira’s claim and admitted the bag was hers. Espinoza was then taken into custody for felony possession of Schedule IV drugs.
Keon Smith drives his momma’s Nissan Altima, gets caught with 523 Grams of marijuana
21-year-old Keon Smith drove his mother’s Nissan Altima with heavily tinted windows into the parking lot in front of Kings Market Vape & Smoke Shop on Jefferson Street in the early hours of April 6th. Officers observed an individual exit the passenger side, enter the store, and return to the Altima before leaving, so they followed them and conducted a traffic stop on Underwood Street. After Smith parked the car, he and his passenger exited and started to distance themselves from the Nissan until officers began to speak with them. Smith told officers he was giving his friend a ride to the store. Smith’s family members started coming outside while the police were interviewing him, briefly interrupting their investigation. Then, officers discovered that Smith only possessed a learner’s permit. Shortly after, officers noticed a digital scale with single-use plastic bags in the cup holder of the Altima and a large bag of marijuana, which later weighed 138.1 grams, sitting on the backseat. Officers detained Smith and searched the rest of the Altima, where they located a bookbag with three large bags of marijuana weighing 207.2 grams, 133.0 grams, and 45.4 grams, as well as 12 individual-wrapped brownies. Officers seized a total of 523.7 grams of marijuana and $4,510 in US currency. Officers went to speak with the passenger and learned he was not involved in the sale of marijuana. Smith told them he was giving his “Cuz” a ride to the store. Smith was taken into custody for possession of Schedule VI with intent to sell, the unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and driving a vehicle with tinted windows.
Holden Parker caught with 6 grams of Meth after man overdoses on Rosa Parks Avenue
27-year-old Holden Wendt Parker, a Full Stack Salesforce Developer, was in the passenger seat when officers responded to a call regarding a man lying in the roadway near James Robertson Parkway and Rosa Parks Avenue on the night of March 22nd. When officers arrived, they located the unresponsive male and administered him Narcan. Officers observed Parker parked in his vehicle near the incident, approached him, and noticed he had white residue around his nose as if he had just taken a substance, exhibiting signs of impairment. Parker refused medical attention and then was detained due to his level of intoxication. Since his car was being left in a private lot, officers did an inventory search. Officers located six grams of Methamphetamine, a black pipe next to fentanyl test strips, dollars, a scale, and multiple small bags, all of which had residue on them. Then, the other person with Parker admitted to taking an opioid. Parker was taken into custody for three counts of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication, possession of fentanyl with intent, and possession of Schedule II drugs with intent.
