During the stop, Choate started reversing his car while arguing with officers, then he stopped and exited his Charger. Choate told officers his back right tire was bad, so he spun out. Choate was cited for the incident that day. Choate was booked on the citation on March 25th.

28-year-old Wayne Beckford was speeding down Murfreesboro Pike near Firestone Complete Auto Care late February 29th. Officers observed Beckford going 96 mph in a 45 mph zone and conducted a traffic stop. Beckford was cited for the incident that day. DUI: Paige Ledbetter speeds down I-65 North at over 100mph, tells police she “had a rough day”

21-year-old Paige Ledbetter was speeding down I-65 North on March 23rd. Officers observed her coming from behind them, so they followed her, where they reached over 100 miles per hour and initiated a traffic stop. When officers approached, they asked Ledbetter about her driving, and she told them that she “Had a tough day” and was “on her way home.” Officers noticed she reeked of alcohol as she spoke, so they questioned her about it. Ledbetter replied that she had “One after work” at around 5:30 p.m., adding that she “had a rough day.” Then, Ledbetter stated she had “a couple” and allowed officers to search her car, where they located a cup with a yellow liquid that smelled like alcohol. Ledbetter would not clarify if it was alcohol and said that it was “possibly a few days old.” Officers detained her and transported her to a safe location for sobriety tests. Ledbetter performed poorly and then agreed to provide a breath sample after being informed of implied consent, resulting in 0.150 BAC%. Ledbetter was taken into custody for driving under the influence and reckless driving.

Noah Clayton loses control of his car while speeding on I-65 South

DUI: Sarah Bihogo drives the wrong way on I-65

20-year-old Sarah Bihogo drove down the wrong way toward oncoming traffic on I-65 South in the early hours of March 17th. Officers observed this and then conducted a traffic stop near Hampton Street and West Trinity Lane. When they approached Bihogo, they noticed she reeked of alcohol and asked her to step out for sobriety tests, which she consented to and performed poorly. When she exited the car before the sobriety tests, the officers noticed a large empty tequila bottle by her feet. On September 12th, officers noticed a motorcycle with a blue gas tank and roll cage around the engine speed past them on Old Hickory Boulevard, where they were conducting traffic enforcement. Then, after another officer described the motorist on the traffic channel, they tried to conduct a traffic stop on him. Still, Freeman accelerated away after doing a wheelie, passing citizens who were stopped at the Old Hickory Boulevard and Second Street light. He fled the scene after turning left and going the wrong way into Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage. Officers identified Freeman via social media posts, which showed him wearing the same helmet and driving the same bike.

Courtney Rowe flips car after hitting guardrail with child in car, tells police “None of this is real.”

27-year-old Courtney Rowe was jailed on February 5th after crashing on I-40 with her four-year-old child in the backseat. Dickson County Sheriff’s deputies stated Rowe was speeding, and they attempted to pursue her but eventually had to break off due to safety concerns. While Rowe was in the ambulance, she stated that she sped away when police activated their blue lights and hit a guardrail, which caused her vehicle to flip. They observed him using the shoulder and turning lane to pass other drivers, so they conducted a traffic stop. Mesalla was going 75 mph in a 45 mph zone and was cited for the violation. He was booked on the citation of reckless driving on January 31st.

Jalen Transley performs U-turn across multiple lanes, crashes car attempting to flee from police

20-year-old Jalen Transley failed to use his turn signal when turning right onto Murfreesboro Road from Hamilton Church Road late January 28th. Officers observed this and initiated a traffic stop. Transley pulled over before driving off in an attempt to flee. Transley then caused a crash when he performed a U-turn across multiple lanes. Officers had ordered all occupants to exit the vehicle when Transley’s two passengers quickly jumped out of the car and fled the scene. Transley exited the vehicle but did not flee and was detained. A subsequent search of Transley and his vehicle yielded marijuana paraphernalia and an open container of alcohol. Further investigation showed Transley had a suspended license and an outstanding failure-to-book warrant. Transley was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license, an open container violation, reckless driving, the unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and evading arrest.
