Shaun Gross charged with DUI after combining alcohol, Adderall, & more medications

44-year-old Shaun Gross was speeding at 90 mph in a 70 mph zone in his Ford F-150 just after 6 p.m. Monday when he was observed by THP State Trooper Tyler Duncan swerving between lanes. During a subsequent traffic stop, Gross reportedly was visibly intoxicated with red, bloodshot eyes. He initially denied consuming any alcohol but later admitted to drinking “a little margarita an hour or two” before driving. Gross performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody and charged with DUI. In addition to alcohol, Gross stated he was taking prescribed Adderall, along with medication for anxiety, depression, and fibromyalgia.

DUI: Matthew Zito found asleep behind wheel after drinking “3-4 drafts” prior to driving

First responders located 21-year-old Matthew Zito asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle at the intersection of Brownlee Drive and Brook Hollow Road just after 1 a.m. Sunday. As firefighters approached the vehicle, Zito briefly woke up and drove further down the road, where he fell back asleep. Nashville Fire was able to place blocks in front of his tires so he couldn’t move any further and then removed him from the vehicle. Officers arrived as he was being escorted to the ambulance. Zito stated he had “3 or 4 drafts” at a bar on 21st Ave, where he was drinking with his co-workers prior to driving. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to booking.
