Melinda Vallem jailed after hitting a parked car on Call Hill Road

53-year-old Melinda Lee Vallem was involved in a car accident at Call Hill Road on November 22nd. Keegan Patrick Thayer called officers and advised them that Vallem had driven into his parked vehicle. When he went outside to check on Vallem, she was visibly intoxicated. Vallem stated that she had one unknown alcoholic beverage and an Ambien. She also believed that the accident happened on Bell Road, which is nowhere near the residential area she was in. Vallem was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Richard Morris charged with DUI after drinking and smoking marijuana

27-year-old Richard Morris was charged with DUI after police found him at the scene of an accident where his car hit a pole. He told police that he was too busy paying attention to his phone and he veered off West End Ave. Police said that Richard smelled strongly of alcohol when they were talking to them. Richard said that he smoked marijuana and had two daiquiris earlier that Saturday. He performed poorly on the sobriety tests police administered; they said he showed visible signs of intoxication and refused to give a blood sample. However, Richard did consent to a breathalyzer test in which he blew a 0.000% BAC. Police described his pupils as being heavily dilated in a well-lit room.

Joshua Davidson falls asleep behind wheel of car in White Castle drive-thru on Broadway

27-year-old Joshua Davidson was jailed Saturday morning after Nashville Fire Department found him asleep behind the wheel at the drive-through of the White Castle on Broadway. Police attempted to wake him several times before he responded and stumbled out of the vehicle. He smelled of alcohol and had to have an officer help him stay balanced. He had glassy eyes and dilated pupils. Davidson performed poorly on sobriety tests and refused blood and breath samples.

Real Estate Investor Parker McCracken charged in DUI crash

30-year-old Nashville Real Estate Investor Parker McCracken ran his Lexus SUV off the roadway on E. Ashland Drive in the early hours of Saturday morning. He claimed he lost control due to the wet conditions and denied drinking any alcohol. Officers say McCracken reeked of alcohol and had slurred speech and glossy bloodshot eyes. McCracken refused all testing and was taken into custody, charged with driving under the influence. 

Maya Tolliver drove to Vanderbilt, parked on sidewalk, picked her own hospital room to rest in

Police say 32-year-old Maya Tolliver drove to Vanderbilt Hospital and parked her car on the sidewalk outside of the hospital. She then walked inside, took an elevator to the 5th floor, where she located a vacant patient room, and made herself at home. Nurses located Tolliver and contacted police. Officers say she reeked of alcohol and marijuana and was unaware of her current surroundings. She was verbally aggressive in response to questions. An officer asked if she would like to seek medical treatment via the ED since she was already at Vanderbilt, to which she replied: “you can go seek help!” She was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.
