29-year-old Casimy St. Phard had a domestic incident with his pregnant girlfriend, Silfanise Julmeus, at their Brink Haven Apartment on September 10th. When officers arrived, they spoke with St. Phard, who stated that Julmeus was mad at him for talking to another girl. St. Phard then said that she threw hot water on him because of this. However, he only had a burn on his left arm and not anywhere else on his body, inconsistent with being splashed with hot water from a pot.
Officers then spoke with Julmeus, who told the police that she and St. Phard were arguing about paying a bill. She added that while she was cooking noodles on the stove, St. Phard came up from behind her and strangled her, causing her to fall to the floor. Julmeus said that St. Phard then poured the boiling water from the noodles on her and kicked her in the stomach five times. Julmeus added that he had always been mad about how she would not get an abortion. She stated that St. Phard had told her before that he would kill her and the baby if she did not get an abortion. After this, Julmeus was transported to Vanderbilt Hospital for a welfare check of her and her unborn baby. St. Phard was taken into custody for two counts of aggravated assault.
