25-year-old Kyle Bramer was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail this week on an outstanding citation from 2019, charging him with simple drug possession. Police Officer (now Sergeant) Tyler Conrads issued the citation, stating he witnessed Bramer “preparing a marijuana blunt in the passenger seat of a vehicle”.

Secret Ford & Nemani Braden, both 19-years-old, are now formally charged in a DUI crash that caused multiple injuries in June. Ford was booked on the day of the crash, while Braden was taken into custody this week on the outstanding warrant as she was hospitalized the day of the incident. Ford, who owned the vehicle and was in the passenger seat, allowed Braden to drive, knowing they were both heavily intoxicated.

22-year-old Jordan Woods was booked into the Metro Nasvhille Jail just before daylight Sunday, after officers found him asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle that was parked in the middle of an intersection with his engine and lights off, with the keys out of the ignition. As officers observed cars maneuver around him they knocked on the window and eventually woke him from his slumber. He claimed to be “waiting on a text message” to tell him where to go. It was unclear how long he had been asleep at the intersection. Woods performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI and for a bag of marijuana found inside his jacket pocket. He is free on pre-trial release and listed a TSU campus dorm as his bond-out address.

When stopped by police, 21-year-old Karin Garcia Betancourt told officers her internal voice told her not to smoke marijuana today, but she says she did it anyway because it helps with her anxiety and to be more outgoing in her job as a waitress at a local Mexican restaurant. She was initially pulled over Thursday afternoon for going 79 in a 55 mph zone, but officers quickly determined she was under the influence of marijuana while driving. She gave officers the remaining roaches and blunts she had in the vehicle and was charged with DUI, drug possession, and driving without a license. The MNPD Officer noted she was “cooperative and friendly during the interaction” and she thoroughly explained how she was in the “process of cutting back from daily marijuana usage to weekly usage, with the eventual goal of no marijuana usage”. She is free on pre-trial release.

Metro Nashville Police found 61-year-old Ricky Lee Cook at the Johnny Cash Museum restaurant, where staff had asked him to leave after they deemed him to be a bother to staff and patrons, and he refused to do so. During a search incidental to his arrest, officers located a leather satchel with a green Tupperware container inside, which contained his personal use marijuana. When asked, he confirmed it was marijuana, and stated: “I’ve been smoking pot for 50 years”. Police charged him with drug possession and public intoxication and transported him to jail. He is free on pre-trial release.

TSU Police charge two teens with felonies for 75 grams of marijuana on campus — General Jai Lynch & Jordan Bowers

TSU Campus Police Officer responded to the back of Wilson Hall on the TSU Campus Saturday afternoon, where he says she smelled “an odor of marijuana” coming from a vehicle, which was occupied by 19-year-old General Jaire Lynch and 18-year-old Jordan Bowers. Both teens admitted to being in possession of a bag of weed and displayed them to the officers. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered one smoked blunt, one non-smoked blunt, and each teen’s bag, which all totaled 75 grams of marijuana. The teens were each charged with felony possession with intent to distribute and are free on pre-trial release.

He stated “I’m gonna be honest, I’ve got a little bud in here” Officers found 11 pounds of marijuana, 4.8 pounds of edibles (cookies, muffins, brownies), 127 grams of gummies, 47 x 30 mg Oxycodone pills, 92 blue Xanax bars, and 3 Naloxone pills inside the vehicle.
