46-year-old Michael Cherepko, who is the Mayor of the small town of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, found himself in a Nashville jail cell just hours after his own city’s Christmas parade this weekend. Just after 2 a.m. Sunday, Metro Nashville Police Officers were flagged down near Whiskey Row for a man causing a public disturbance. Cherepko was reportedly “extremely intoxicated” and was ranting about losing his credit card. Security confirmed that the Mayor closed his tab at 1:15 a.m., when his card was returned to him. Mayor Cherepko admitted he was “messed up” when talking with police. He was advised to come back tomorrow and see if he could locate his credit card, and he seemingly left the area. Twenty minutes later, Cherepko returned, too intoxicated to reason with, and caused another disturbance with security. He was detained for Metro Police, who took him into custody after he was unable to locate anyone to retrieve him to a safe place.
29-year-old De’Eric Clark was charged with disorderly conduct after fighting with security guards at Whiskey Row this weekend. Security guards flagged officers down and stated that Clark was attempting to take bottles from the VIP area and informed him that he needed to leave. Clark continued to be resistive and swatted at the security guards’ arms while they escorted him out. When they were able to remove him from Whiskey Row successfully, he turned around and punched an off-duty police officer in the chest. Officers arrived and placed Clark into custody for disorderly conduct and were advised that the off-duty officer would prosecute for the assault.
24-year-old Virginia tourist William Jessie was jailed in Nashville early Saturday morning after refusing to pay his nearly $8K tab at the new troubled Barstool Sports bar in downtown Nashville. Staff stated Jessie reserved a table with his credit card and charged to the table throughout the night. When the card was run at the end of the night, it declined as ‘frozen.’ Jessie told police he disagreed with the charges and purposely froze the card so it could not be charged. Barstool Sports prosecuted for the $7,946.05 theft of services.
47-year-old Joshua Resnick contacted police in the early hours of Saturday morning on 5th Ave in downtown Nashville to report he had been assaulted. As paramedics attempted to load him into the back of an ambulance for transport, Resnick grabbed a glass bottle and threw it at officers. Due to his behavior, Resnick was medically cleared and taken into custody, charged with public intoxication.
27-year-old Jenna Russo tried to kick an officer in the backseat of the patrol vehicle, according to an arrest report. On Mar 3rd, officers were contacted by the Whiskey Row Bar. On arrival, officers observed Russo detained by security, who stated that Russo was hostile toward them, yelling, pushing, and shoving. Security asked her to leave the bar multiple times, and she refused. At one point, Russo attempted to punch one of the security guards, which is when she was detained. Russo was belligerent and smelled of alcohol, and was arrested for public intoxication. While sitting in the back of the patrol vehicle, Russo undid her seatbelt. When the officer went back to secure the seatbelt, Russo slid back and kicked at him, but didn’t make impact. After that incident, Russo continued to be belligerent and vulgar throughout booking.
