46-year-old Gregory Justice was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and violation of conditional release after he threatened his neighbor with a handgun and then told her that he will “shoot the first police car that pulls up”.
On September 10th, Metro Police responded to a person with a weapon report near 9th and Delta Avenue. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Tonya Bolton who stated that Gregory Justice walked onto her property while she was sitting on her porch with her neighbor. She informed police that he tried to spark an argument with her. Bolton asked her nephew to tell Gregory to leave the property. Bolton advised that he became angry, and asked her why he was being ordered to leave. She told police that Gregory grew even more upset and told her that he had something for her as he grabbed his right pocket.
Bolton saw that he was holding something which she believed to be a gun. As she dialed 911, Gregory told her to call whoever she was going to call and that he would “shoot the first police car that pulled up.” Bolton explained to the officers that she feared he was going to shoot her. She said that he continued to threaten her and stated if she didn’t have her walking stick he would beat her. Gregory then walked into his residence at 1518 A 9th Avenue North. Officers verified that he was no longer allowed in the property following the conditions of his release for a previous charge. Officers were not able to locate a firearm in the residence.
Gregory Justice was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and violation of conditional release. His bond was set at $3,000.
