Man charged with assault after girlfriend says he threw a cat bowl at her

29-year-old Samson Awotula was charged with domestic assault after his girlfriend told police he chased her around an apartment and threw a cat bowl at her during an argument.

On November 4th, Jasvinder Oates contacted Metro Nashville Police about a domestic incident between her and her boyfriend at 819 Heron Pointe Drive. Oates told the police she got into an argument with Samson Awotula and he began to move her personal items out of the apartment.

Oates stated he cursed at her and said he would hurt her if she exited the bedroom. According to the affidavit, Awotula chased Oates around the apartment and threw a cat bowl at her. She stated he never touched her or hit her with anything he threw, but it did cause her to fear for her safety. Awotula denied the altercation escalated and claimed he simply moved his belongings out of the apartment.

Samson Awotula was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released on a $1,500 bond.
