38-year-old Brendan Joseph Doherty refused to leave the entrance of the Legends Corner Bar in downtown Nashville early March 22nd. Security at the bar flagged officers down and advised them of the incident, which was when they arrived, and told him to move along. Doherty then started speaking with groups of people nearby, being an annoyance. He then tried following random bystanders to their Uber and walked into an active roadway to do so. Officers attempted to get a taxi for Doherty, but he resisted entry as he wanted to tell them a story about his wife and tried to embrace them. Officers noticed Doherty showed signs of impairment and that his friend could not control him or get him to his hotel safely. Officers declared he was unable to care for himself. Doherty was taken into custody for public intoxication.
