27-year-old Robert Farris III was taken into custody for harassment on May 1st. On April 21st, Daniel Meeks alerted the authorities, advising them that Farris III had been harassing him and his family since April 18th via text messages and phone calls. Meeks added that this was after telling Farris III to stop contacting them. Meeks stated he blocked Farris III’s number and had to block several others after Farris III used them to contact him, adding that he works as a software programmer. Meeks showed officers messages where Farris III advised him that he “cannot simply block the phone number of a programmer due to his knowledge of technology” and that he could bypass the block feature on a cell phone. Then, he sent Meeks a screenshot of his address, telling him he would come by his residence. Farris III told Meeks, “Keep the peace. I will see you soon.” Farris III then said he would not come alone, causing Meeks to relocate to a hotel, fearing for his and his family’s safety. Officers later identified Farris III via a Mississippi driver’s license, other police reports, and a Tennessee driver’s license. He was then detained for the occurrence.
