Shelia Barnett assaults husband during argument over marital issues, tells police “I don’t want to talk about it”

44-year-old Sheila Faye Barnett had a domestic altercation with her husband, Torie Harold Stratton, at their Mountain Springs Road apartment on March 2nd. When the officers arrived, they met with the couple and a witness, Walter Vaughn, Stratton’s cousin. Stratton advised officers that they argued over marital issues, which led to her attacking him. Vaughn confirmed Stratton’s statement as officers observed the two abrasions Stratton sustained, for which he refused medical treatment. Then, officers spoke with Barnett, who advised dispatch during the initial call that she was strangled and assaulted by Stratton. Despite this, when officers questioned Barnett, she stated, “I don’t want to talk about it,” repeatedly before denying the claim of being strangled. Officers observed minor abrasions on her elbow, which she said happened when she fell in the washroom and not from Stratton. Barnett was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.
