Librarian and Assistant Professor Nicole Wood was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning and charged with DUI, as she missed the interstate on-ramp, and stopped quickly to make a U-Turn, causing a line of cars to slam on their brakes to avoid a collision.

When asked by the officer that stopped her if she had any alochol this evening, Wood replied “No, I have not, I promise!” – despite the officer smelling alcohol emitting from her car, and her fumbling to locate her insurance card. After having her walk to the rear of her vehicle, she was once again asked how much she had drank, to which she replied she had drank 2 beers, but the last one was 45 minutes prior to this interaction.

Woods stated she was confident she was able to drive without issue, however SFST’s proved otherwise. Woods also agreed to a breath test, on which she blew a 0.16 after the standard observation period.

Woods is an assistant professor/librarian at a college. She was release as part of the pretrial program, and will have an initial appearance on 12/04/17.
