24-year-old Maurishiea Murray was charged with domestic assault and 27-year-old Devin Rodgers was charged with aggravated assault by strangulation when they got into a fight and told officers one story but video footage showed another.
On May 18th, Nashville Metro Police were dispatched to a domestic call at 79 Carroll Street. According to the affidavit, officers spoke with Devin Rodgers and Maurishiea Murray individually. Murray advised that the altercation had only been verbal in nature, whereas Rodgers claimed he had “wrapped” Murray in his arms to quell physical escalation.

Authorities acquired video footage of the incident that showed Murray taking a swing and Rodgers restraining her as he had claimed. However, an amount of time later they observed Murray walking away from the scene and Rodgers catch her with his arm around her neck drag her and slam her against a retaining wall.
Maurishiea Murray was arrested and charged with domestic assault and her bond was set at $1,000. Devin Rodgers was arrested and charged with aggravated assault strangulation and his bond was set at $2,500.
