28-year-old Juan Ramos-Castro was charged with burglary after he went bar-hopping, drunkenly entered a woman’s apartment, kicked her back door in, and claimed he thought it was his home.
On November 14th, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to reports of a burglary at apartment JJ909 of the South Oaks Apartments located at 100 Antioch Pike. When officers arrived, they cleared the location and found Juan Ramos-Castro outside the doorway of the second bedroom. Officers took him into custody and made contact with Lenna Robinson, the resident of the apartment. She claimed she was asleep when she heard a loud bang, sat up, and spotted a man in her bedroom wearing a black Champion hoodie. She did not recognize the man and hid in her closet to contact the authorities.
MNPD officers read Juan his Miranda Rights amd spoke with Juan, who appeared extremely intoxicated. He stated he did enter the apartment and claimed his friend dropped him off after bar-hopping. Juan noticed the door was unlocked and entered the building, believing it was his home. He caught sight of Lenna when he walked into one of the bedrooms and claimed he walked into another room after he noticed her. Juan refused to give any further information about the incident.
Police noted there was significant damage to the back door, looking as if it had been kicked in. Several drawers were pulled out and clothes were strewn everywhere. Lenna assured officers both doors were locked prior to Juan entering her apartment. Neighbors told authorities Juan used to live in the apartments, but does not anymore.
