Nashville Firefighter Joshua Lipscomb, who performs as a comedian in Nashville as ‘Sir Joshua Black’ and has frequently collaborated with Former Mayor Megan Barry and the Nashville Scene, posted a tweet Wednesday stating, in part, the “majority of Nashville city council is white supremacists… These folk want us dead.” Nashville Fire responded Thursday to Council Members, disavowing the tweet, adding they are addressing the matter with Joshua and are consulting with Metro Legal about available options. Lipscomb was previously suspended from the department for another incident and has received other complaints about his social media usage.
