18-year-old Gary Palmer III rode as a passenger in a 2020 grey Kia Forte, reported stolen by Benjamin Norton, on Buena Vista Pike near the Overlook Ridge Apartments on the afternoon of March 11th. Officers observed the Kia with a group of individuals running away from it. They caught up to Palmer and interviewed him after detaining him, during which he admitted to being in the rear passenger’s seat and knowing that the car was stolen. Detectives reviewed the security footage from the apartments, showing Palmer and four unidentified parties running from where the Forte was parked. Palmer was taken into custody for joyriding.
Gray Palmer III of Murfreesboro Pike in Antioch, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on March 11th, charged with joyriding. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $2,500, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave him pre-trial release from their facility.
